“A lovely haven to rest and chill out”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

Our stay here was excellent in every way, the accommodation, breakfast, attention to detail was excellent.
We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

The walk through the park and along side the Royal Terrace was beautiful, something we would not have discovered if we hadn't been staying on this side of Bath.

Highly recommended.

Dear FishLover from Norfolk,

Well thank you so much for your lovely words about Apsley House, I have passed your feedback on to all the staff.

We are so pleased that you found it like a haven, and a place to relax and chill out. We do try to make it peaceful, cosy and relaxing, as most people need a bit of that nowadays, and that's what holidays are all about.

Please come back and see us again sometime,

Gillie

I'm not sure there's much more I can add to the reviews from others as we only stayed at the Apsley for a single night, however we were made to feel very welcome during our brief stay. Staff were attentive and helpful from the moment that we arrived, the room was lovely and breakfast was a wonderful experience. I just wish we could have stayed a while longer.

The last few reviews are all spot on. A beautiful property, tastefully furnished, outstanding hosts/management. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The honesty bar is a great idea and was much enjoyed!
Look forward to returning.

We chose this charming hotel for a romantic getaway in Bath to celebrate my boyfriend's finishing his final ever exam. We were absolutely thrilled with our choice- the Mornington Room surpassed all expectations as did the wonderful staff and food. The breakfast was incredible- Raphael went to great lengths to cater for every request including making Hollandaise sauce from scratch. Truly the perfect weekend getaway- so romantic! Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Mornington was very romantic and ideally located, tucked away at the back of the hotel, opening up o...

Dear Guests,

Thanks you so much for taking the time to write such a glowing review. We are so pleased you and your boyfriend enjoyed your stay, and were able to relax after the exams. I'm especially pleased you loved the room, I'm always telling people it's the best one and so I'm relieved you loved it as it was probably me talking you into that one!

I might have to steal your headline from the review though if that's ok? Genius!

Hope to see you both again sometime

Warmly,

Gillie

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, Raphael and Gillie are exceptionally good hosts and manage this little gem of a hotel really well. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, we were made to feel very welcome. Raphael's breakfasts are truly stunning - we both had Eggs Benedict, which were superb. I was a little concerned about the distance we were away from the town centre - not wanting to drive in. However the taxi's used by the hotel were totally reliable. I guess you need to factor the cost of taxis in, when comparing prices with hotels in central Bath - but I think this hotel would still win hands down! In the past we've always stayed in the centre, with all the issues regarding noise and value for money that this brings. Our stay at the Apsley has now changed my mind - we'll certainly stay here the next time!

Room Tip: If you struggle with stairs, let them know when you book, as the stairs to the rooms on the top-floo...

This hotel was lovely. The owners were so helpful and told us everything we needed to know about where to go in Bath. The room was very well designed and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was seriously yummy and even had a "special" on the menu which I had. Our stay was made brilliant by their attention to detail and helpfulness. I would definitely stay here again and would very much recommend it.

Room Tip: I can't remember the name of the room we stayed in but we arrived early and were allowed to look...

What a fantastic experience! A very charming house. Nicely located with a parking space. Easy taxi ride (£7.50) into the city center. We stayed in the Copenhagen room and enjoyed it fully. Caring, knowledgable, and wonderfully nice hosts (Gillie & Raphael). Our kids loved every aspect of our stay as did my wife and I. Breakfast was excellent and included in the cost of the room. Our biggest regret - we couldn't stay longer. Do yourself a favor, don't second guess yourself, and book a room now!
