We had 2 double rooms in this beautifully appointed B&B (including the one in the basement with the old-fashioned clawfoot tub - my sister absolutely loved it). It was by far the nicest place we stayed during our UK trip, with service to match. Beautiful garden in back for relaxing, lovely lounge with drinks and snacks you can help yourself too - all reasonably priced and on the honor system, you just jot down what you had. For breakfast you can help yourself to fresh fruit and juices to start, then follow with cooked-to-order eggs with salmon, full English breakfast - or ask for the Chef's special of the day, which may be pancakes or eggs Benedict. The staff was very helpful giving us information about how to get around - and made many calls to arrange our excursions. When we found that Mad Max tours were full up, they suggested we hire a private chauffeur, which proved to be a terrific idea. Instead of a cramped bus with lots of other people, we were driven around the Cotswolds in a spacious Mercedes by Jo Clifford (Star chauffeurs). Cost is 20 pounds/hour for driving, 10 pounds/hour waiting time. You can plan your own trip, stay as long as you want, and enjoy the delightful company of Jo, who will tell you a bit about the places you're visiting. We liked her so much we invited her along for lunch. HIghly recommended - and not all that expensive if you compare what four people would pay on a commercial tour. As for location - true, it's not close enough for easy walking (we were told at the train station that it was a half hour walk so we lugged our suitcases along and attempted it - that I do NOT recommend!), but cabs are easily available for about 6 pounds to the center of town. Bottom line: delightful place I would definitely go back to.
