Stayed here on 2 occasions in January whilst visiting family in the area.We had the wellington room for the first stay and garden suite the second stay. Both rooms were warm with all the facilities you need especially for overseas visitors,ie iron, space etc.the owners and staff were lovely very helpful and able to make you feel at ease.
The house is a little way out of Bath but has free parking and suited us well. The breakfasts were great especially the porridge and shot of whiskey!
The beds have a thick feather overlay as many good hotels do which was a little soft for us .My husband had had a recent operation which restricted him a little and the staff showed genuine concern for his welfare.

My wife booked this hotel for my birthday trip to Bath. We were given the Wellington Room, which is huge and has a great view over the valley. The owners were very welcoming and gave good advice on walking in to the City (does take 30 mins) via Royal Crescent and the Circus.

Our room was at the back of the hotel and very quiet - though they are refurbishing the top floor, so we could hear the builders as we packed and prepared to go down to great breakfast!

We'd stay here again next time we come to visit Bath.

We stayed here midweek in January in the Champagne Room. The rates on the room made this exceptional value and having read other reviews on Trip Advisor we were not disappointed.

We received a wonderful welcome and found the room to be as hoped, with a huge, comfortable bed and some nice touches to add comfort/class to our surroundings. The bathroom was nicely fitted out and the shower spacious. It was a slight squeeze onto the toilet but as this was next to the towel rail on a cold weekend it could be forgiven!

We decided to get a take-away on our first night and were provided with menus and a tray with plates and cutlery to take to the room. This added to our excellent impression of the hosts who were really willing to do whatever was necessary to help us enjoy our stay.
The breakfast was tasty with plenty of fresh fruit and cereal to accompany a range of hot options. The bacon and sausages were of stand out quality. Breakfast is served in a wonderful dining room with a floor length window and views of the hills beyond.

It was a half hour walk into town but this walk takes you through the Royal Crescent and the Circus and therefore could hardly be called a chore. We tended to walk into town and get a taxi back for about £7.

I really enjoyed this hotel and at the special rates it gave us a very special weekend to remember. At full price it might not be cheap but you certainly would not feel cheated of your cash if you decided to splash out.

We went to bath for a long weekend, and enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The decor is lovely and the rooms very cosy - our room did feel a little cold at times when we had come in from exploring in the evening, but there was a small fan heater provided which we used. the bathroom was large and spacious - only problem was that the water temperature kept going from hot to cold in the shower.
We sat by the log fire in the communal lounge one evening which was lovely - they have an honour bar so you help yourself and write down what you have had.
Service was good and the staff very friendly. breakfast was ok - we're vegetarian so not as much choice in hot food. Would have been nice to have muffins or fruit yoghurts, but they had a good selection of cereals and fruit, enough to fill you up.
The location was a little bit out of the centre of bath - the first day we walked in but it took a good half hour, so we got a cab or took the bus after that.
All in all, a good stay.

For any "worried" Vegetarians out there - we happily cater for you!
Our breakfast buffet consists of Fresh fruits, juices, cereals and creamy Greek yoghurt. Besides this, you also have a choice from a menu for a cooked breakfast:
*Porridge (with or without whisky)
*Traditional English (Vegetarian sausage and baked beans substitute the meat for a vegetarian choice)
*Smoked Salmon with Poached or Scrambled eggs
*Toasted muffin (the bacon can be omitted or even substituted with mushrooms or tomato)
*Boiled eggs with soldiers.
*Chef's choice of the day (this can be anything from Omelettes to Pancakes - special requests are welcomed)
To accompany, you can order tea, coffee, toast and/or croissants (fresh out of the oven to order)

All our breakfasts are freshly cooked to order; you can therefore alter any choice as you wish - we have served fried eggs on porridge before when requested!

Currently we are in the process of refurbishing our 4 top floor rooms, which will bring the bathrooms (along with any hot/cold water issues) up to our usual high standards. We sincerely apologise for water temperature fluctuations which have been a problem in the past. These rooms will all be completed by the 2nd weekend in February.

We stayed at the Apsley House Hotel to celebrate a birthday during the last week of November. We were in the Copenhagen room on the lower ground floor and all we can say about the room is 'wow' - a room full of character, great value for money and well presented. We were equally impressed by the welcome we received from Nick, one of the proprietors - warm, helpful and offered to help us with our luggage. This was our first visit to Bath and the Apsley House was a mere 30 minute walk to the centre of things, so it was an ideal base. We had a wonderful, memorable stay at this hotel and will definitely return!
