This is a delightful museum of Americana which gives the impression of being run by enthusiastic, albeit knowledgeable, volunteers who can't wait to share their feelings and information with the visitor. As well as the regular room displays there is an annual special exhibition, this year of gunslingers and gangsters and "one off" events with family appeal. This year we have attended a military enactment, display of raptors and owls, and a celebratory evening on 4th July. As I have only sampled coffee (it was fine) in the cafe I cannot comment on the standard of catering. For visitors without cars there is a free bus service in season from the delightfully monikered "Bog Island" a few yards from the Abbey. I live locally and make frequent visits, the next during the Museum's Christmas season
