It is a nice garden however there is a charge of 1.20. I don't mind paying that charge but they should keep public toilet clean.

used to go here a lot when younger with my mum and sister in the holidays, haven't been for ages! its a beautiful place to sit and watch the world go by in the centre of bath aswell so is convenient to get to, lovely scenery by the river and beautiful flowers all around, only down side is you have to pay to get in, but overall lovely place!

As many things in Britain they charge for things that should be free and vice versa. Bath though is much nicer and quiet than London.
The garden is well maintained but definitely the money can be used elsewhere

The Parade Gardens are situated in a dip and the views down from the street are lovely.

There is an entrance fee of £1.00 (20p concession for seniors'!) and one can either walk down the steps or walk along a gentle ramp. At the time of our visit the park was bursting with spring colours. Ample deck chairs to sit and relax or to listen to the band (on Sundays) between 2 - 5.

The cafe in the gardens serves one of the best cream teas. The cakes are freshly made and the portions are huge. Lovely pot of tea.

A walk in the small gardens brings you to the riverside with the Poultney bridge in good view.

I agree with the comments of other contributors on this page that public parks should not have an entry fee. However, I wonder if these grounds belong to the Abbey and the charge is for private maintenance?

If the day is warm and sunny then take a good book, look at the river, Pultney Bridge, beautiful floral arrangements, statues etc whilst lying in your deck chair. A café provides snacks and drinks. There is a small charge to enter and sometimes there are insufficient deckchairs.
