The curators were very pleasent and very knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble to explain. The exhibits were interesting and the video clips informative. It was so interesting that lunchtime passed me by! We would highly recommend a visit! Situated in the basement of the Post Office, the advertising could be better!

If you are interested in British postal history this is a must.
The first "Fist day cover" was posted in Bath a few days before the official issue date of 6th May 1840.

A small museum showing the postal service history in Britain and particularly Bath. Some very interesting items to note and I was pleased to see many on a T-loop. I have a like for post boxes and there are a few to gaze upon. At £3.15 entry is a little high, but if your thing is stamps, mail or postmen, then this is a first class visit.

Stumbled upon this gem of a museum whilst enroute to post a postcard from Bath Post Office.
The museum is housed on the lower level of the post office. Do not let its humble surroundings or size fool you. This museum has a wealth of information, interactive displays, and memorabilia that tell the story of the history and life of the British Postal Service. I was made to feel very welcome by the museum staff, who were only too happy to answer all my questions and explain the exhibits. After several hours of happily absorbing, easy to digest, snippets of Post Office life I left feeling that I will definately be back.
I posted my postcard and, with my newly aquired insight, felt privileged to be part of such a great British tradition
