“An Exceptional Garden owned by the National Trust”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

Prior Park Landscape Garden is a wonderful find, especially if you are an NT member. Full of stunning views and hidden features, you could easily spend the best part of a day here. Although there is no parking (apart from for disabled drivers) the public transport up from Bath is very regular and reliable (if a bit expensive for the distance). It is well worth the effort.

You have a choice of paths to follow but there are spectacular views from all around so you will not be disappointed, whichever way you chose to walk. There is a tea shop at the bottom of the gardens as well as a small postcard & gift shop up near the way in.

A beautiful place to visit.

“Unique Garden with a Palladian bridge”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

This is a unique garden as it has wide open spaces with a forest of trees for a perimeter, a mansion on the hill and only has natural plants, mostly wild garlic. But the most unique thing is the palladian bridge, which is one of three in the world and the main thing to see at this garden. There are also 2 spots with great views of Bath. I think taking a picnic lunch would be ideal; to sit, relax and just enjoy the surroundings. We weren't organized enough and so regretted that. It is a long, uphill walk from downtown Bath, but, hey, we did it. There is a little cafe to enjoy. As seniors, we paid 6.50 lbs each.

“gardens with a view”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

Loved the walk through these gardens down to Bath from our B&B in Combe Downe. The views down of the Bath Skyline are superb and the landscape of the gardens is wonderful. This weekend, ithey were full of wild garlic in flower which we were encouraged to forage. Lovely! Small admission fee but free to National Trust members. We were even allowed in after closing time just to see the view by the kind Emma at the gate.

“Lovely grounds”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

Beautiful grounds that are well maintained are a feature. Nice view back toward Bath. Especially fine Palladian bridge, one of four in the world (Wilton House, Stowe Landscape Garden and Catherine's Palace outside of St Petersburg).
