On a beautiful sunny day we visited Prior Park this week. The landscape is lovely and has some great views of the Bath skyline from the top. We parked in Southgate and walked from there which is a relatively easy walk across the road and behind the train station. Until you get to the very steep hill at the top, probably a mile or so and this was quite tiring by the time we reached the top however, there was a bus stop right outside the Prior Park gates.
Entry cost was fairly reasonable too.

Overall a lovely couple of hours spent walking and taking in the views and sunshine.

Like all these national trust places, they can be pretty expensive. Apart from that, it was a nice circular walk (not pram friendly though) with stunning views across Bath. It's well maintained and the cafe near the bottom was reasonable too. I don't think we'd come back, simply because there's no much for the young kids to do; there's no big area for them to really get to run around in. Good for a quiet Sunday walk though. There is also no parking (other than disabled parking), so you'll probably have to walk a relatively long way from Combe Down to get there. Better off going to Long Wood, nearby, if you're kids are looking for more room to run around, and it's free!

My wife and I came here on a sunny March morning. We walked from the city centre as it was such a nice day. It's doable but be warned it's uphill which might not be suitable for everyone. I think you can take a bus if you prefer. The gardens are lovely. The view from the top is incredible and there's lots of benches where you can plonk yourself to take it all in. Theres a tea shop on site which looked good but I didn't buy anything. Prior Park is definely worth the visit. You can walk around the whole grounds in just over an hour but it's a nice place to spend several hours.

Absolutely stunning walk, a real hidden gem right in the heart of Bath. On a sunny clear day, the views across the park take your breath away, luckily there are specially located benches set around so you can lose yourself in the place.
Upon arrival we were welcomed by the National Trust representative, Alan Eames, who was friendly, knowledgeable and he had a real passion for the place that helped the whole experience, a real credit to the National Trust.

A must see if visiting bath, also love the free wild garlic!!

This is a lovely place, even in the rain! Such beautiful views from up at the top of the hill. Most importantly though, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. As there's only disabled parking I tentatively asked if there was a possibility that we could park there as I'd injured myself running the day before. The woman at the lower entrance couldn't have been more helpful - she let us park there, showed us where to go, and then even rang the main entrance to let them know that we were on our way there afterwards and would need parking up there! The two members of staff at the main entrance were also brilliant, and suggested the easiest paths for me to limp round to see the views. Thanks so much to all of you, it really made me day so much brighter - and I aim to come back on a sunny day when I'm able to run around again!
