“Unbeatable Location, Uncomfortable Experience”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

The location of this hotel in Bath is brilliant - just a few hundred metres from Pultney Bridge. The hotel itself is tired, uncomfortable, and in the last stages of transition from budget to backpacker. I could not fault the staff, but they played little role in my stay. The hot, stuffy room and aged, creaking bed were major contributors to a series of uncomfortable nights. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms in most other hotels in Bath would be preferred.

There was absolutely nothing redeeming about this 'hotel' - with the exception of the convenient location. Where does one start? The poor state of the room: dirty, mould, mattress that needs to be dumped, filth and grease on walls and doors - then the unacceptable attitude of the staff when problems were addressed, clueless about customer service and extremely arrogant and impolite, all who are Eastern European with poor command of the English language, with the exception of one young girl called Ivana who tried her best to apologise and compromise. Avoid it like the plague! We are well-travelled and even in remote third world countries have we not experienced anything as bad as this! I will log a complaint with Booking.com as this establishment should not be on offer on their website!

Our stay was not the best. The reception clerk was a little rude, the tv in the room didn't work, we had a horrible nights sleep because there was no air conditioning or fan, and the shower was clogged with hair, and no no wifi is available. Wouldn't recommend.

Really tired hotel! All the bathroom tiles was broken, and the bed was awful. Only positive was the position in the town. Short way to everything! Positive: really tight parkingspace in the back. Will not come back!

Room Tip: None, because it was tired everything

I booked this place online through hotels.com there's limited parking first come first served type of booking. Ended up with a four poster bed, not the best bed ever but room was comfortable, ensuite available.
Wouldn't use again because of parking, I had to leave m car out of view on the street.

Room Tip: Noisy room but was on ground floor.

I stayed for two nights in this hotel in June 2014. The reception clerk was most helpful, even parking my car in the only (tight) space left. My single room was small but quite adequate. The
shower room/toilet was spotless. I had clean towels both days. Its central position was a bonus
and the spacious and comfortable lounge bar very welcoming at the end of a long day's driving.
The window blinds were damaged. One would not work at all. I never eat breakfast so the
coffee in the room was all I needed. Having read some of the negative reveiws on this site, after booking, I was tempted to cancel but am very glad I did not. Over all very good value for money.
There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby even a Waitrose open until 9p.m.

Room Tip: My basement room only had a view of the area at the front. I was not in it much in daylight so w...

This hotel was a pleasure to stay in. I stayed here with my 2 children in October 2012. It's close walking distance to the city attractions and restaurants made this a great place to stay. It has a great lounge to unwind in with a nice drink after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are beautiful with nice high Georgian ceilings.

Room Tip: Arrive early if driving to secure a car park at the back of the hotel. Whilst we had no difficulty...
