“Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

We had a mixed "salad plate with meat"; generous portions of at least 6 different creative delightful salads. Topped with generous slices of thinly sliced roast beef with a creamy light horse-radish creme. It was one of the best lunches I've ever had. Great (strong) espresso and a wonderful assortment of desserts. The place is small and packed; it wouldn't be the same delightful experience if it was cavernous! Filled with locals meeting, eating and talking. Turning the idea of boring British cuisine on its head.

“Super salads”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014

went for lunch and found excellent selection of home baked quiche and interesting salads all freshly made.
tables with a view of the street in this Bohemian quarter of Bath. Piped music not to my taste but fair value and good honest food. They also have a branch at the Glove Factory if you are visiting the National Trust Gardens , Court Gardens at Holt Wiltshire.

“Small but practically perfect in a culinary way”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

Stumbled on Sam's and a quick look at the food counter confirmed that we had to go back for lunch. It is small with very limited seating one big communal table with other tables squeezed around. Wonderfully cooked and fresh. Interesting salads, quiche, hot dish & lovely cakes
Interesting premises probably an old workshop. License with good wine & cider & beer choices. The loo is a one off! Make sure to make a detour!!

“Lovely food, great atmosphere but a tad expensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014 via mobile

Really enjoyed my visit here and found the staff very helpful. They brought the wrong selection of salads to us initially and soon realised, expressing "sorry, you said no raisins and no fennel" and it was soon corrected. Really delicious food but did find it a little on the expensive side, I understand that's it all fresh good quality ingredients but just slightly out of my lunch price range.

“best vegetarian lunch yet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2014

This is one of my favourite lunch spots - there are many great places in Bath but this place is brilliant. I've been loads of times and each time the food is fantastic - I had goats cheese tart and jerusalem artichoke salad today and it was lovely - the salad included raw asparagus tips which were so fresh - just fantastic - after 2 good lunches in London and 2 rather mediocre ones this week to come here was great. The atmosphere is great, the place is really quirky - the loo is up the steepest stairs hidden in a tiny roof space - so recommended deservers more than 5 stars.
