I stay in hotels every week and am rarely moved to write a review. The Boathouse has a really good quality feel about it, the rooms are well presented, you can access the net and watch TV on the Apple Mac in the room, the food is just excellent, I had the Pork Belly, yummy, and the staff are delightful, friendly and helpful. If you need to stay anywhere in the Bath or Bristol area, you will not be disappointed at The Boathouse.

The Boathouse is a comfortable base from which to explore the city of Bath and surrounding countryside. Unlike the city centre hotels, there is ample free parking and a park and ride direct to Bath centre is a short walk away. The room we had was of good size and comfortable with a good sized en suite bathroom and an excellent view over the River Avon. Breakfast is adequate although a limited choice and the day we stayed the option of scrambled eggs with smoked salmon was a non starter as they did not have any smoked salmon. We had dinner the evening we stayed and the menu did offer a good choice and the food was good quality. The bar offers a choice of real ales but I found them not to be too good and ended up with lager (usually unheard of for me!) The staff are helpful and friendly

Room Tip: Rooms 1, 2 & 3 have good river views

My friend and I decided on a last minute trip to Bath and we were so happy to have found The Boathouse. Great B&B with a beautiful setting and great staff. Highly recommended for a quiet getaway to a gorgeous town.

Good position with large car park, terrace and conservatory with kitchens that cope well with the potential numbers. Friendly staff and mixed lunchtime menu has suited us very well on more than one occasion. Their sandwiches with spicy cauliflower soup were delicious. It is a lovely location in both summer and winter......we shall return

Came to Bath for a girly shopping trip, nice to find a place that can accommodate 2 twin rooms, of a very good standard. It was so convenient to have the park and ride round the corner, but not impinging in any way upon the "look and feel" of the hotel.
The food and service in the restaurant was adequate, but could be improved upon by increasing the portion size, reviewing the price and speeding up the service. The decor is relaxed and comfortable, but the greetings and helpfulness of bar/ reception staff is friendly, professional and cannot be improved upon.
Thank you, I will visit again.

We booked a single night at the Boathouse, travelling as a family group of 3 married couples. We had a little trouble finding the place at first, but that was mostly our fault. Once found though, it was a gem. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, with all the facilities we were looking for.
Evening drinks and a meal in the garden were an excellent end to a travelling day. Happy to recommend the Boathouse to any fellow travellers.

On the outskirts of Bath this lovely pub/restaurant is a good base to explore the delights of the city, a 10-minute taxi ride away. The Boathouse has spacious rooms, splendid decor, balconies overlooking the river, along which rowers pass in sculls, and on which longboats are moored. Across the river, to complete the view, are rich green pastures. The rooms, the service and the location are all superb. Were I reviewing the restaurant the score would be lower - the service proved friendly but astonishingly slow; the couple of waitresses appeared to be seriously overworked and the kitchen clearly couldn't keep up. And the meals were forgettable. Judging by other reviews, we may well have struck a bad night: it was a lovely summer evening and the place was busy. Or perhaps it was the chef's night off. My recommendation: stay for the lovely rooms, the view, enjoy a drink in the wonderful surroundings, but perhaps find somewhere else for your evening meal.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a river view.
