Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Option of audio tour, which I didnt use as great information cards. Exhibits fantastic and varied. No problem to take photographs...without flash. Assembly Rooms beautiful and very peaceful on my visit. Nice coffee shop where my husband relaxed!!

“Superb. Listen to all the red ies”

Must visit place when you are in Bath. Amongst all the other things to do. But worth taking your time over. The assembly rooms are simply stunning and belong to the National Trust so all in a good cause. Enjoy.

“Wonderful museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2014

Friends recommended we visited the museum and we weren't disappointed. Great exhibit on Georgian styles and the audio guide was really informative. Nice sized museum that you could visit in a few hours although you could also spend more time if you wanted. My 10 year old daughter also really enjoyed it.

“A must-do when you're in Bath, includes Assembly Rooms”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

We didn't expect much but were quite surprised by this museum. It shows a range of period clothes, dresses, we did a tour but used audio guides in addition. The tour was only for the Georgian dresses (First big room). After that there is a whole room for trying on costumes, for all, adults and children. Lovely!
Then there is a room with Victorian and Edwardian clothing, this one really grabbed me as each showcase contained paper boxes piled up to the ceiling, and it is the archive of the museum!!
Every true Jane Austen fan will experience how I felt in there..
The Assembly Rooms are in that very building, the Fashion M is actually below them.

“Take your time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2014

The exhibition of Georgian dress is wonderful if the history of costume is your sort of thing. The free audio guide is worth taking, but you need to read all the captions too as there is so much historical information. It took us an hour and a half to get round. There is a dressing up area that people were really enjoying and also a desk with cards and feltpens to design your own dress. There is an exhibition of Belleville Sassoon dresses too and cases with clothes for each decade of the late 20th century but the audio guide didn't say much about these. The assembly rooms are, well, large nicely decorated rooms.
