“Piece of victorian luxury”
Reviewed 24 September 2012

We enjoyed our 1 night stay at 7 Pulteney road. Our room was large and well fitted with a well fitted kitchenette at the side and a very small on suite .The bed had nice bed linen and was comfy and cozy. The thing I loved most was the big window looking out the front of the building on to the road but although the windows are old and droughty with the very long heavy curtains drawn over it was very comfortable on this cold windy evening. It is very convenient for walkig into town or down to the canal. we hope to stay there again.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are very nice

We stayed here overnight after a day and night out in Bath for my birthday. Fantastic location, just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Bath. Free off-road parking as well which was really handy. Beautiful building. We had a choice of two rooms - one was higher up and had the better view, but the other had a fireplace and was better decorated - we opted for the latter. Gorgeous boutique style room, with cosy sofa in the huge bay window and very comfortable wrought iron bed. Very romantic! As we only stayed one night we didn't use the kitchen area but I'm sure it would have come in handy if we had stayed a few nights - it had a fridge, washing machine, and all the utensils if you wanted to cook. There was a bit of traffic noise but as we had chosen the room facing the road, this was to be expected and it didn't affect our sleep. Yes the bathroom is indeed very small but that didn't bother us in the slightest. The owner/manager was very welcoming and helpful on arrival, then left us to it, giving us a key to the front door as well as the room, which was much appreciated. Highly recommended, especially for couples.

Bath may have the Roman Baths but it also has Number 17. Wow, what a place to stay. We are staying in the 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor, direct access to the lovely back garden. It has two very generous size bedrooms, a massive lounge room, a kitchen with every thing you could ask for and a very spacious bathroom. Best of all it has a washing machine, brilliant after a week on the road. This place is an absolute must stay and very well priced at £380 for two nights.

Room Tip: The two bedroom apartment is ideal for families. Board games include and a great selection of movies...

We had a beautiful room on the first floor with a splendid view if the city. The room was beautifully decorated and quite spacious, and the small kitchen was handy. The en suite bath was tiny, especially the sink which was mounted at child's height! We walked to all the downtown attractions and to and from the train station very easily. A very nice place.

Location of Number 17 is great it's a 5-10 min walk to the centre of Bath and is a beautiful stroll.
We had the Atrium Suite on the ground floor, We had read rewiews that previously indicated that it was a little bit noisy, but we found it to be very quiet, although we did stay on a Sunday night.
The room had character, beautifully decorated in Georgian style, although the en-suite bathroom was so tiny, and had we of been staying more than 1 night I think we would have found this to be a problem.
The fridge was stocked with croissants, butter, jam & milk for breakfast which was a nice touch, and the kitchen area was fully equipped should you want to stay in & dine.
The owner allowed us to park from 12:30 on the day of arrival and until 1:30 on the day of departure, which saved us a fortune on parking in Bath.
We thought overall that Number 17 was fantastic value for money, and we will definatley be returning very soon.

Accommodation is in the form of self contained apartments within an old Georgean house near to the centre of Bath. Poulteney Bridge and the City are a 10 minute walk, but a bus runs nearby for those not so energetic. The rooms were uniquely decorated in period style, with comfortable beds and furniture. The small kitchen area was useful, and included breakfast cereals, milk and coissants in the fridge. Only two down-sides; the shower room was tiny and a bit of a squeeze for most people, and the rooms on the front of the house suffered traffic noise early in the morning (rooms at the rear overlook the Abbey and Bath Rugby ground). Would recommend Number 17 despite these issues; it is quirky but more than adequate as a base to explore Bath.

Room Tip: Go for an apartment at the rear if you want to avoidn traffic noise and have a view of the Abbey.

This is the second time we have stayed at number 17 in two different rooms. Firstly the negatives, the on suites are small and I agree with other comments on this, if you are a big person this is not the place for you. Positives, great location within walking distance to the abbey and centre, park up your car and leave it. There is a iPhone docking pod, flat screen tv, Internet, ironing board and iron. Small kitchen area with complimentary tea and coffee, beautiful character rooms with comfy bed. The back rooms have a great view of the bath rugby and the abbey. There is also a beautiful garden with out door seating. £130 is a lot of money but not in Bath which is the second dearest place to London. Mark is friendly and helpful. On the day of leaving he let us leave our car until we left. I would recommend this place

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back with the view
