“Was it candid camera?!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2014 via mobile

After we had read great reviews on trip advisor a friend and I visited. There's only 4 tables inside so had to sit outside.

We were told that they had sold out of green tea, ALL fizzy drinks, crisps and plain scones. That's a lot to have sold out for! The waitress didn't appear at all apologetic or concerned about the complete lack of products even though the cafe was open for several more hours.

After we had ordered the waitress finally came round 30 mins later to tell us that she'd forgotten about us. Then took 15 mins more to bring a piece of cake that turned out to be stale anyway.

Very disappointing.

Thank BathKnights

“Birthday Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2014

We came across this quaint little café for a light lunch before birthday dinner in the evening.
Very friendly owner explained that there was only enough soup for one but he had managed to "water it down" to feed two and would give us a discount. It was very tasty though and the bread was lovely. He gave us free pots of tea, topping up when the pot was cold and because it was my birthday gave us a little treat of a chocolate toffee shortbread. You could sit here for ages and watch the world go by, owner very chatty and made my day when he guessed my age at 10 years younger !

“Lovely afternoon tea”

We had a lovely cream tea in this little cafe overlooking Bath Abbey. The scones were fresh and tasty and we enjoyed the ambience.

“Nice food, questionable price! ”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2014 via mobile

My girlfriend and I popped into this quaint cafe due to recommendations on the BigBen promotional leaflet. We were given a friendly welcome and the tea and cakes were lovely. However when we came to pay despite receiving a discount through the BigBen scheme of free tea with each cake, we were still charged £8.50! This seems a bit steep for two cakes!

“Christmas in Bath with a great English Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2013

Would like to thank Darren at the Mad Hatters Tea Party in Bath for an excellent freshly cooked breakfast with that extra little something called "Humour". Darren greets with a smile and attentive service. His aim is to please and make your experience a memorable one for visitors or locals. Set in a great location, close to the cathedral, river walk and shops. If you love a bit of magic and fantasy look no further, enjoy carrot cake and plenty of hot tea. See you when we next visit our son in Bath. Catherine & Peter from Cornwall.
