My partner and I stayed here for the weekend in mid January, choosing this hotel as it was fairly close to friends and the theatre where their son was performing in Panto.
This is a typical corporate hotel. While being reasonably efficient, the front of house staff showed little personality or warmth but did find us a quiet room (the back of the hotel faces a cemetery and you can't get much quieter than that!). The beds were comfortable (we both like firm mattresses), the room clean and furnished minimally, with little hanging space for clothes and no cupboards as such, so O.K. for a couple of days but you probably wouldn't want to stay here much longer than that. Two tea bags, three coffee sachets, four little milk tubs for refreshments, again enough - but no hint of generosity. Bathroom again clean, with wall mounted soap/shampoo dispensers (to keep amenity costs to the minimum, presumably).
Breakfast was O.K. with a range of cereals, yogurts and some cheese as well as hot foods. These consisted of scrambled egg, sausages and baked beans - no bacon, which seemed mean - but kept hot and the egg kept moist as they were contained in bain-maries.
We made the mistake of buying a round of drinks with a friend who joined us at the hotel before we went out one evening - really too expensive for this class of hotel. No restaurant in the evening but pizzas available - along with an interestingly down-market range of chilled foods that could be bought to microwave, depending on your level of hunger/desperation.
For Bath, this is probably not an expensive place to stay. For the facilities, surroundings and total lack of any ambience, it is.
