I stayed here in May with three friends as we were visiting Badminton Horse Trials. The rooms are clean and adequate. The breakfast was good and had everything you would need to set you off for the day. Location is slightly out on a limb from the main centre of Bath but only a quick and cheap cab ride away. My only niggle was that the walls were paper thin and we were woken at 2am by a returning hen party and then again at 4am with screaming and shouting of other residents running up and down the hallway - not really the hotels fault though. All in all this is fine for the money that you pay.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your review of the Holiday Inn Express Bath. We appreciate all feedback to ensure standards are kept to the best possible.

I am very pleased to hear that you found our rooms to be clean and adequate: our housekeeping staff always pride themselves on high levels of cleanliness.

As you mentioned we are slightly out of the city centre but there are many different modes or transport into the centre. Our reception staff will be only too pleased to advise which route is the best for individual guests.

I am sorry that you were disturbed by other guests during your stay; we do try to advise all guests to be respectful of other occupants, by not making excessive noise within the hotel.

Thank you once again for your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Yours sincerely,

Lisa Franklin
Deputy General Manager

Stopped here because we wanted a place to sleep while enjoying the sights. Parking was really easy on-site - a big benefit in Bath - and reasonably priced but the location was a little further out than we expected. It was certainly walkable and flat but whichever route we tried did not always feel safe although we had no problems when we were there. When we went, the evenings were light but when the winter comes I would probably opt for a cab back.

The breakfast I thought was poor compared to other Holiday Inns we have used. the staples were there but the scrambled egg and sausage does not constitute a hot breakfast. Service for replenishing the stock was pretty slow when we visited also. Nice touch was the ice machine in the lobby. Personal bugbear is a hotel that advertises Wifi and actually means chargeable wifi - it should be free. The staff were always very helpful and pleasant.

Traveling with my husband and three kids (21, 18, 10) and knew we'd have to book two rooms,. This was an overnight trip out of London and we weren't expecting to spend much time in the hotel: we basically wanted a clean, reliable place to sleep and drop our bags. The Holiday Inn Express was perfect for us, Especially considering the great deal we got by booking on the internet -- we booked two rooms for about 140 pounds (40 pounds less than their posted rack rate for one room)

We took the train in from London and were told it was an easy walk to the hotel, Yes, that's true, but it's along a rather busy road and it was a bit disconcerting as you got further outside of town. In hindsight, I would have rather taken a cab to the hotel, On arrival, the staff was really friendly and helpful. We arrived well before checkin, but they happily took our bags and stashed then until we returned in the early evening following a full day of sightseeing. (The staff was happy to show us the walk back into town and give advice on what we should do first.)

The rooms were large with a queen size bed and another queen size futon style-bed on the floor., The hotel was full but very quiet; we all slept great. Would have liked free wi-fi but that is a minor quibble. There is a fairly well stocked snack bar in the lobby and a bar area.
Breakfast was basic and adequate. Nothing fancy, but again, it worked for us. We planned another full day in Bath before taking an evening train back to London, and once again, the staff let us leave our luggage at no charge.
We didn't have a car, but other people staying in the hotel seemed thrilled with the plentiful free parking.

You do miss some of the charm of being in the center of town, no question, But we rather enjoyed the walk through Bath to get back and forth to the hotel and, if you buy tickets to the Hop on-hop off bus, it stops not far from the hotel. Plus, taxis are plentiful and eager. We got caught in a torrential downpour after dinner and were able to get a cab within 10 minutes that happily drove us the half-mile or so to the hotel.

This is a great value for families with one of the best staffs we've encountered in Europe. Thanks for a great visit!

Spent one night with family. Reasonable walking distance to all the sites. Check in took some time as it was swamped with a 'hen's night' group who conveniently ignored every one waiting in the que to go straight to the front desk, champagne glasses in hand ! The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast area was very busy but adequate.

We got the advance booking rate which was about 1/2 the regular rate. We were looking for no-frills accomodation within walking distance to the centre of Bath. The room was small but very efficiently organised for using the space. The pillows were labelled "soft" and "hard" - nice touch. The staff were nice and breakfast more generous than I'd expected.

Everything you would expect from Holiday Inn. Comfortable beds, clean room, good shower, quiet and well maintained facilities with pleasant, professional staff.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing but not unpleasant:- faux coffee, orange juice and pain au chocolat; with a rather bizarre cornflake dispenser that ensured that your cornflakes were served crushed and a comedy toaster that either warmed your bread or turned it to charcoal.

I was surprised to be be charged for parking in the hotel car park.

It is within easy walking distance of town, cutting through the local petrol station and Homebase to walk along the river. I would recommend people to exercise caution if planning to walk back along this route after dark as with the overgrown shrubbery it's a muggers paradise. However the route along a busy main route offers a safe alternative.
