Great food, good selection and nice staff, however forgot a couple of orders. But in general a good night.

We took a route out of Bath which we don't usually use, ignoring our Sat Nav and saw this place. It was absolutely perfect! Stunning views, good range of drinks and - importantly for us - somewhere our little one could play safely. At last there exists a pub with a decent amount of outdoor seating!

Staff were friendly. We had the home made lemonade, chilled wine and a local ale. Decor inside was lovely. Didn't try the food. The only minor criticism is that the range of ales, particularly cask ones, was very low. I would have liked to see a lot more on offer, especially the local brews.

Popped into the Hare and Hounds for a late dinner and were made to feel very welcome indeed.
You know what you are in for the moment you step through the door. Great interior, classy selection of wines, and draught lagers.
The menu was simple yet well thought out, opted for the bread board to start, and burger & onion rings on the side. We were seated in the conservatory and initially it was peaceful. However, during the meal large groups arrived and were seated in there with us which made talking and enjoying our meal very difficult as it was very noisy. Also, a couple came in for dinner with their dog which was not a guide dog and it was allowed to stay in there with food being served throughout the night. While this element didn't really effect us, it may by something to bear in mind for others.
It was expensive for what we had, but a lovely meal nonetheless.....

We enjoyed our dinner time visit here. The food was excellent, and wasn't that slow. The waiting gave us time to enjoy the views from Solsbury Hiil up to the Marlborough Downs. Good garden and raised terrace ensuring unspoiled views for all. Not much in the way of children's play equipment.

We called in here for a quick dinner on our way to the motorway and ended up staying almost until closing time! We weren't expecting the pub to be busy given that it was a Monday night, but we walked in to a buzzing atmosphere and ended up being shown to their very last available table!
The staff were so lovely and polite, with the hostess who seated us taking the time to talk us through the menu despite the fact that it was busy, and recommending the duck dish that went down amazingly well! Food was unpretentious but cooked to perfection, and service was quick despite the warning that it might take a little longer than usual due to the restaurant being full.

A couple of tips for if you're planning on eating here:

1) Book! Even if it is a week night...we were lucky to get a table.
2) Have their chocolate sharing platter dessert
3) Don't share it with anyone

Well done Hare and Hounds, we'll be back!
