Description: Brasserie Blanc is located in the Francis Hotel on the beautiful Queen Square and within walking distance of Bath's shops, restaurants and the world famous Roman Baths & Pump Rooms. On arrival you will be greeted by our friendly, knowledgeable team and the lively ambience is complemented by a menu inspired by the simple, hearty dishes of M. Blanc's childhood. Alongside an appetising a la carte menu and carefully selected wine list it offers an excellent value set menu and on Sundays it serves a classic roast with all the trimmings. Younger diners can choose from a special children's menu or order a half sized portion of many of the a la carte dishes on offer.Whether you are looking for a simple lunch, a romantic dinner or a family celebration it is the perfect choice!

“Surprised”
Reviewed 26 July 2014 via mobile

Coming to a R.Blanc restaurant and discovering food that needed serious seesoning and lack of taste is strange to say the least. Dishes though beautiful and service professinal. Being in my fourty's I was surprised to see so many people older than us...until I saw the bill.

“Nice Place...Shame About the Mains!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Brasserie Blanc is the French equivalent of Carluccio's. It's ok and reasonably priced but nothing special. 4 people, a bottle of wine and 3 courses cost around £130.

We've been to the Bath one 3 times since in opened 2 years ago and it's always been ok. This time, the starters and puddings were fantastic (both of mine were from the specials menu - Pistachio souffle was amazing).

However, the mains let the place down. All 4 of us were just a bit disappointed. Not enough to send anything back but still disappointed. I had the chorzio and squid cassoulet. You could achieve the same effect with a tin of chopped tomatoes, some paprika and a courgette. It was very thin as was the lamb stew which wasn't really how it was described on the menu. The £18 duck was three slices of dry duck breast with a grey potato dauphinoise.

The ambiance and atmosphere here is great and we couldn't fault the service. The set menu seemed good value but nothing inspiring.

This place is an average 3.5/5 but With over 300 other restaurants in Bath, try them out before here.

“Very enjoyable”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

Decided to try this restaurant on a Thursday evening without booking so got there fairly early. We were greeted warmly and shown to a well placed table. From then on we received excellent service from the friendly waiting staff.
We chose the a la carte menu and shared the delicious Charcuterie Platter starter (if we'd chosen this as a starter each I don't think we'd have been able to finish our mains!!!). We both chose the Beef Stroganoff mains and enjoyed it very much. We had no room for dessert even though they looked delicious when delivered to the table nearest to us. ( Next time I think we'll choose a starter and a dessert each!!) We chose a carafe of Rose which was well priced and delicious. My husband had a coffee and I had a Darjeeling tea to finish.
There was a lovely atmosphere all evening and I thought that the whole experience was very enjoyable.

“Very enjoyable”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

The restaurant is in part of the Francis Hotel on Queens Square. It is a grand dining room, retaining many of the features of the original hotel, a truly beautiful room. The service we received was excellent. We went for lunch and took advantage of the prix fixe of two courses and a glass of wine for £11.95. It all felt rather special for the price. Excellent value and delicious. We will be back!
