This is the bath Masonic lodge. The building was once the only royal theater outside London. We had a lovely man give, us a wonderful hour and a half tour. we liked this better than the baths. even better this is free, however they do charity work so I would suggest an offer of a donation

We received a warm welcome and the gentleman that took us round was enthusiastic and certainly knew his stuff. It is such an impressive building and the thought and care they have given into putting together this tour and museum must be commended. We even got a bit of a "personal" experience with mrs siddon herself!

A very interesting tour and can't recommend it enough.

You wouldn't guess what was inside from the outside. Originally the Theatre in Bath, then a catholic church, and now an operating Masonic temple. We had a fascinating 2 hour guided tour by a very knowledgeable guide on all three phases of the building's history including an explanation of the Masonic symbology of the temple. There is also a Masonic museum and a small chapel used by the current Knights Templar ( but you can forget your Dan Brown ). All in all an excellent visit for those interested in social history, the history of Bath or those wanting an insight into Masonic items.
