Carole is a delight and she runs a B and B that is second to none. The room we had was to small, the bathroom smaller, but who cares -- we loved our two night stay. The bus down into Bath stops 50 feed from the front door and our own car was parked right at the front door. Breakfast could not have been better. Probably the nicest thing about Carole's is Carole.

Room Tip: Try Fosters and Flower pub near the B and B. Carole will give you walking directions.

We found that Brunswick Cottage was located in a beautiful part of Bath. Combe Downs is a lovely area for walking and the scenery is very pretty. The walk is steep from the centre of Bath to the cottage so a bus or taxi is recommended. The cottage itself was lovely - very clean and I loved all of the furnishings. Have already recommended to a friend who is heading there shortly. If we return to Bath, we will be staying here again.

What a lovey place to stay. We were given the attic room which everyone seems to be moaning about but Carole is very communicative and we were made aware of the size of the room ASAP so it wouldn't of been a problem for us. Then we got upgraded to another room as there must've been a cancelation which was nice. The cottage is in Combe Down which is on the outskirts of Bath but there is a regular bus service that stops right next to the cottage and it's a nice walk down in the morning after breakfast. The rooms aren't enormous but they are beautifully decorated and ample enough. Carole is lovely. She is extremely welcoming and a delight to talk to. Even offered us a lift into Bath. The breakfast is delicious with some very tasty sausages and all freshly prepared and enjoyed in the conservatory which was lovely. Plenty of parking outside with pubs and shops nearby. There is even a stop for the skyline tour of the city on the way down the hill. As an economical option for Bath I thoroughly recommend Brunswick cottage.

We had a wonderful stay in the 4-poster room, which was elegant yet unpretentious, charming, and quirky. The owner was on holiday, but her friends taking care of the cottage were absolutely lovely and made us feel like friends staying over. We walked into Bath (about 20-30 minutes downhill) both days we were there - the walk takes you right by the Prior Park Landscape Gardens, which was one of the highlights of our trip and well worth the admission price - and took a cab back at night (about 9 pounds) since we were out past the last bus at 11-something. Really reasonable price for a lovely quirky cottage, relaxed wonderful breakfasts, and close proximity to town yet far enough outside of it to feel a bit of the countryside. We would definitely recommend it (especially this room) and absolutely stay again. Thanks Carole, hope you had a lovely holiday & meet you next time!

Room Tip: 4-poster room was fantastic. Spacious, lovely, comfy bed. Bathroom is small, but that wasn't i...

We needed a B&B in Bath for 1 night and found this delightful bijoux chic cottage. We were in the attic room, which is very small but charming with it's minute bathroom ( sadly no shower but we found clambering in and out of the bath - having had to avoid knocking our heads on the sloping ceiling - hilarious!)
The stairs up to the attic room where steep and narrow but again all part of the fun. The views from the velux window were superb.
We needed an early start in the morning and were well looked after by Carole. Also she had kindly phoned us on the morning of our visit to find out our expected arrival time and to make plans in case she was not at home when we arrived.
We would definitely recommend the Brunswick Cottage to friends and family if they were visiting Bath and we would go back again ourselves, but I would advise our more elderly/arthritic friends to avoid the attic room !

Room Tip: Due to the steepness of the stairs and the low ceilings I would advise avoiding the attic room if yo...

I hate to be too critical,it's a lovely place with a fab conservatory breakfast room o/looking the garden and a lovely, friendly host.
I WAS warned by the proprietor that the bedroom was small, and boy,is it small, anyone over 5 foot height will have issues with it,very tiny with an impossibly tiny bathroom ensuite.Due to tiny room size, the "double" bed is also up for debate too!
For the City of Bath it is an inexpensive stay but compared to "normal" towns prices,a bit on the high side for this particular room size.
T.V. aerial was indoor type and less than useless too,but a great widescreen t.v. in homely, comfortable, residents lounge that we took advantage of though.
All in all,if it was my B+B,I'd think again about offering this room for two people above dwarf sized! Probably o.k. for one small person/teenager,too pokey for two above average sized people.Height/sized questions need to be asked before booking, apart height lives on!!

Room Tip: If you aint a solo travelling dwarf,DON'T stay in attic room, the other rooms are BIG and lovely...

Thanks for the positives in this review!
I only wish you had read the 'big print' on the size of the room and taken the advice. Yes its small but very much reflected in the price paid (£34.50 per person on a Saturday night in Bath, including a very large substantial English Breakfast is very reasonable) which may be why you ignored the roomsize at the time).
I've had many good reviews for this room despite its size, with guests being able to use the lounge and conservatory if they wish - which is unusual in a bnb of its type and price range.
Hope your trip is going well!

My fiancée and I have just returned from a night away in Bath for our anniversary, and I elected for us to stay in the Brunswick Cottage based entirely upon the pictures of the rooms on laterooms.

I am so glad that I did as our stay there was divine. The room was beautiful and exceeded my expectations. The big fourposter was super comfy and the decor was just what I had hoped for, for my fiancée to stay in.

The service was amazing from the moment we were greeted at the door to checking out in the morning. My fiancée has very special food allergy dietary requirements and the proprietor went over and above to assist with all of these.

All in all I would recommend the Brunswick Cottage to anyone, and will certainly be looking to book in again if I need to stay in Bath in the future.
