We went in on spec, and were very pleasantly surprised and impressed. Very good value, the food was well cooked and interesting, and the service prompt, friendly and efficient. Complimentary Armagnac was a nice touch. Deserves to do well.

Booked this on spec. Looked reasonably good, but turned out to be a surprise. Food was excellent, and service was impeccable. 3 courses for 2 cost over £70, so not the cheapest, but certainly to be recommended.

This restaurant has changed hands at least twice in the last couple of years and currently serves French and Mediterranean cuisine. My starter of scallops, served with a little caviar and a sauce was tasty and good, if a little gritty. The scallops were served with their roe, which is a bit unfashionable these days, but in my view adds a good contrast of colour, texture and taste. The main course was the 'special' of coq au vin, which was pleasant, but somehow lacked the fullness of flavour that this great classic dish can deliver. I suspect that the use of small onions rather than shallots was the main culprit here. Good live jazz on the evening I was there too. Overall, the meal was just a little short of ‘very good’ but as the new ownership settles down, I think it will improve. I will return to see.

small cosy bistro just off pultney bridge. Warm welcome on a wet cold sunday night in december. Personal service, excellent food with a good choice for my veggie wife. Well worth a visit.

We were advised that this little bistro had reopened and had been refurbished. Had a lovely meal, the food was French style with a little twist. Service was a little haphazard as there weren't many staff. (New owner so I am sure that will improve) Automatically provided with bread and olives/tapenade on arrival.Nice touch. Quality of food was superb, and the presentation "magnifique" ! When the bill arrived I thought they'd undercharged! The scallop starter was fantastic - a little small but then I love scallops and could eat tons! The French Onions soup was light and delicious. Got chatting to some other lovely people also. Highly recommended.
