It does as it says on the packet!! It's M&S at the end of the day. however I was disappointed that no wine is chilled! so I went to Sainsburys express just a couple of minutes walk away!!

We have only ever had a coffee inthe upstairs cafe in Bath M&S but recently decided to try it for lunch.
We had a jacket potato which was lovely and the service was first class, they are so well organised.
Will definitly go back.

This refers to the "Kitchen" eatery on the ground floor.
You expect from M&S a straightforward proposition and good quality at a reasonable price. What we got was chaos.
When we arrived we did not find a cafeteria arrangement but had to wait to be seated. Good, waitress service, makes a change. There were plenty of spare tables, many of them cleared but we were told that we would have to wait "about ten minutes" to be seated. A few minutes later we were asked by another server if we were "green" or "red" - no other explanation given - and ushered to a table for two with perplexingly one green and one red chair and given a menu.
Five minutes later we a server (I think the first) came to take our order. The menu had suggested a selection of cakes but there was no display cabinet from which to choose so we took on trust.
To be fair the tea, coffee and cakes were up to the usual high standard and they did not take long to arrive, though at 15 minutes from first arriving a cafeteria would have been a lot quicker.
Having eaten we had to pay for our elevenses. No server appeared, too busy sorting reds from greens seemingly so we went to the cash desk. "What table number?" We had no idea. There was no table number on the table (I checked) and we had not been given anything else to identify us. After we pointed out which table we'd been at the server cashed up a cover that certainly was not ours before eventually choosing tables and covers at random for something that matched what we'd had. We could have paid less, no-one would have cared.
Then we tried to pay. The card machine would not accept the figure from the till. No idea why. We paid by cash - next stop was to find an ATM.
No apologies, no explanation. M&S should do better than this.

I am a regular visitor to Bath to see my daughter and we usually have a meal or coffee here at least once each trip.

Recently we had a meal there. Three of us had different meals and all were delicious. I had the lasagne and was fearful it would be a marks and sparks ready meal served nicely. It wasn't. It was tasty and there was plenty of it. We shared sweets and they were all delicious too.

This restaurant does not have any airs and graces - it does what it says on the tin! It is a handy place to have an excellent lunch while shopping.

The service staff varied from friendly and attentive to aloof though.

M&S has impressive dinner deals, selling nicely prepared (easy to pop in the oven and cook) main dishes as well as sides and desserts. Pastries, too, are well-prepared. Good selection. Clean.
