Owner description: Near the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey, The Crystal Palace is one of the city’s true gems. Our menu stays true to traditional tastes, with classic English dishes and daily specials. And of course, we’ve a wide range of delectable drinks to wash it all down.

Went here for a drink with our grand daughter who is studying at the University of Bath. Very well located in a small secluded square in the centre of Bath. We enjoyed our drinks but I don't think I would enjoy eating here

Went for lunch today. Lovely looking pub from the outside and inside and I'm a fan of Fullers beers. I would think twice about going in to one of their pubs for food after today though. Ordered the burger, which you could tell just looking at wasn't going to be great. The burger looked about 3 ounces and was half the size of the bun...definite no no when it comes to burgers when the first 2 bites are bread. The actually burger then was probably the driest burger I've ever had. Completely overcooked and inedible. No-one came to check on things while we were eating so when we were leaving I said to the guy I'm assuming was manager about it and all he had to say was "well if you'd said while you were eating I could've done something about it". It was far from busy as well. I'm guessing from all the previous positive reviews we may just have been unlucky though?

Excellent service , ambience ,decor, cleanliness, reasonable price and the lunch was pretty good too! Couldn't have chosen a better pub to meet friends who we hadn't seen for +++ years. It was a really good decision to eat here partially influenced by TP comments but these still left me nervous. However no worries in future highly recommend this pub

We have been going to this pub, the Crystal Palace, many times over the years on our trips to Bath, which is one of our favourite cities, with its surrounding hills and its own climate, a bit like Belfast in those respects. First this pub had well kept real ale, (and it still does), then it had well-cooked, tasty and interesting combinations of food, but inside looked a bit dull and tired. Now its been given a new lease of life inside, as the refurbishment had made the sophistication of the interior decor match the ale and the food - i.e. excellent ! We went here with my brother & sister in law, and the 4 of us all shared the same view of its new look, which they had heard about and wanted to try. We each had different things from their menu, and everything was applauded. They had the quite rare real ale on handpump, namely Fuller's “ESB” (an ale several steps up in quality and taste from Fuller's more well known ale “London Pride”). It was well kept, and a treat for a real ale fan like me, to have a couple of pints of.
