“Great location, modern, clean and good value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2014

My husband and I had a two-night stay at this hotel in late January and have nothing but praise for the experience. The hotel is exceptionally well situated, with most places of interest within a 5 - 15 minute walk, As other reviewers have stated, a cinema and eatery complex is conveniently located next door, with further restaurants, cafes and bars adjacent. As this is a new build, the accommodation standard is very high, with spacious rooms and good facilities. Furthermore, the staff were pleasant and efficient. We stayed on the 4th floor, which has good views of the surrounding hills. We didn't make use of the hotel restaurant due to the abundance of other eateries. However, as with other areas of the hotel, it looked welcoming. We chose to travel to Bath via train, negating the parking issue; as the hotel is only located a relatively short walk from the station it proved to be a good option. In summary, if you are looking for a centrally located hotel of a good standard, this Premier Inn is excellent value for money and we will certainly be returning.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors have good views,

We stayed one night in this very new hotel. From the outside it looks very dreary as the windows only allow a faint view of the inside and you wonder if it is the right place. The location is very central though.
As architecture it is par for the course for this kind of hotel chain in that it makes no attempt to blend with the surroundings and churns out these off the peg boxes. The interior design is bland but the pictures in the rooms are chosen with some thought.
Once inside though the reception was cheery and helpful and the bar staff were fine.
There seemed to be teething troubles with various electronic things like the money machine .
The bedroom was a good size and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was new and clean but was chilly and I could not see that it was heated. Also the extractor was not very efficient.
Breakfast was fine and all in all it was quite OK for one night.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and were given the 3rd floor

This is a modern and well positioned Premier Inn right in the middle of Bath and is ideal for visiting the city. Clean and adequately equipped. Surprisingly quiet despite location. Staff friendly and competent.
We did not use the restaurant because there is plenty of choice for ALL meals in the city ... and there is a Wetherspoons just next door anyway!
The ONLY issue for us was the parking ... but we were able to park in public car parks and then come back to park overnight free in the public car park opposite the hotel (8pm to 8am) before buying a ticket in the morning. It was January so traffic was light ... Summer could be a problem!
There is also a car park at the cricket ground which is reasonable.
Hotel staff were very helpful|: they provided a map showing all parking in the City and allowed us to park at the back area to unload. THX.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights a couple of weeks after in opened in December. We was pleased with the location, shops, bars and restaurants all in walking distance. Rooms very clean and spacious, better than some Hilton's and Holiday Inns I have stayed in. There are two downsides, firstly no parking at the hotel. We had to park in a multi storey car park by debenhams which took over an hour to get into due to us arriving mid afternoon on a busy shopping day. This was not a good start to the trip and we then had to walk for fifteen min with luggage (we did not realise how far it was). Also the some staff were slightly rude, our key card had been playing up, I told reception and they assured me it was not. When I got to my room I couldn't get in because, as I stated to staff, the key card was not working. When i returned to reception I explained and the staff member was extremely dismissive and rude with no apology. Also the staff in the breakfast room were slightly odd, whilst we were eating they would just stare and grin at us. I thought this was slightly rude too. Overall though I would return though.

Really good city centre location. The hotel is superb and very good value but unfortunately doesn't have parking.
We used the Southgate multi storey which was recommended by the hotel and although a few minutes walk proved to be very good.
The hotel was very clean and staff up to the usual high Premier Inn standard. We were given a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet.
Didn't use the restaurant as there are so many restaurants to choose from in this area.
Would definitely return.

Nice Hotel in a good spot. Weather spoons and cinema next door. The hotel receptionist was very welcoming and gave us a map to get our bearings. The room was nice (but I think I prefer the lighter deco found in most other Premier inns-but it was still great!) Beds comfy and a great 1 night stay, went out for a curry at the Eastern Eye where we have eaten on many occasions and came back for a drink in the bar. We waited a few minutes to be served as the bar man was serving another couple( the only other people in there ) so I left my partner at the bar to visit the bathroom I came back 5 minutes later only to find my partner still waiting to be served and he had had no acknowledgement from the bar man what so ever. Not even a smile or I will be with you shortly! We left and went to the Weather spoons next door where we were made to feel very welcome by there very busy staff who had served us within 2 minutes of our entry.

Room Tip: All nice rooms and a great location.

Excellent location, brand new hotel, good beds, quiet rooms. only downside was that the room had not been properly cleaned before our use (vacuuming). I mentioned this the next morning and got a full refund, which I thought was more than generous. I'd come back to this hotel next time.
