“Lovely... BUT..............”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

The Halcyon Apartments are in a fantastic location, the building has an abumdance of orginal features and the apartment my partner and I stayed in (1) was very large! Every detail has been thought of, the furninshings are fantastic, there is every mod con you could possible need. BUT........ what they won' tell you when you book is that there is a bar beneath the apartments and a VERY noisy nightclub next door. We did actually complain about this and the reply was that we had double glazing and the bedroom is at the back so we shouldn't be disturbed! They did offfer to move us to a higher floor the next day but we refused as I dont see how this could make any diffrence, it was VERY loud....they should tell you when you book that from 10pm to 2am that it will sound as though there is a nightclub in the lounge of the apartment! This really is a pity and without constant banging music between these hours these apartments would be perfect.

Great location for a weekend in Bath. The apartment was very well equipped and impeccably decorated. Extremely helpful staff and a very nice restaurant (Porter) about a 60 second walk from the front door! Great period features and very comfortable sofa. The subscription to Netflix on the TV was a nice bonus (especially on a rainy afternoon).

I had a 2 night break during half term week and I did not want to leave! I got a really great rate as the apartments have only been open a few weeks.

I received a lovely warm reception from the ever helpful Katrin who showed me to Apartment 7 for my stay. The space was cosy and stunning - top floor (note there is no lift but being an old Georgian building it isn't really possible - the short climb is so worth it!), modern furnishings and beautiful views over the rooftops.

There were some really lovely and totally unexpected welcoming touches - a Nespresso coffee machine with skimmed milk and choice of coffee capsules, luxurious White Company toiletries in the bathroom and bedside table chocolates. There are even plush radio systems and board games - Bath Monopoly anyone? Nice touches.

Katrin took time to talk me through everything - appliances, hot water, information book, Smart TV and internet and was so friendly. She is a real credit to The Halcyon!

I had opted to bring my own food and made use of all the utensils and equipment to hand and they have thought of everything!

I loved relaxing on the sofa in the evenings with all the choice on the TV (they even have Netflix!) and felt very comfortable. Even though you are in the city centre being on the top floor meant no noise - if there was I certainly did not hear it!

The bedroom was divine and being at the back of the property overlooked some lovely gardens and houses. The pillows were amazing and I had two of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time.

There is so much to do and see in Bath - the Roman Baths, the Royal Crescent, Jane Austen and Fashion museums, Thermae Spa plus fabulous shopping. After a long day out, it was so nice to come back to my own private space and relax.

If you are looking for a stylish place to stay in Bath then look no further - Halcyon Apartments will suit you nicely.

I will definitely be back for more.

Our family of 5 spent 2 nights over half term in one of the Halcyon 2-bed apartments. They kindly put an extra bed in for our 3rd child at no extra cost and the apartment was beautifully decorated, smart and spacious. The beds were very comfy with lovely white bedding and plenty of nice White Company toiletries in the luxurious bathrooms. We were thoroughly impressed by the apartment, in a perfect location near all the shops and restaurants (but with little noise at night time) and would definitely return. Service by Katrin was also very friendly and we really enjoyed the Nespresso coffee maker with plenty of coffee pods and the well equipped kitchen - even including the very useful champagne glasses! All in all a fab stay in a beautiful apartment and lovely city.

We had a night here during the school half term with our 2 small boys. They loved their James Bond style fold down bed in the lounge ! We loved our enormous sleigh bed with flat screen TV in the master bedroom. The bathroom is beautiful: stone tiles, full of natural light from the huge Georgian window, & complete with original fireplace & lovely armchair. The decor in the apartment is modern, quirky and beautiful. The lounge has floor to ceiling Georgian windows with beautiful original shutters, all painted in tasteful 'Farrow and Ball' colours. Everything is spotlessly clean and done to a very high standard. The kitchen is amazing, with a lovely selection of tea bags and a glass bottle of fresh milk in the fridge on arrival. We didn't cook as the location was so central but you could have hosted a dinner party !!! We enjoyed access to netflix so watched a movie. Wifi was no problem. Staff (Katrin) couldn't do enough to help you. Parking was fine and just around the corner. We actually parked for free on a single yellow line right outside during the Sunday daytime !! We loved our stay, had a fab 24 hours in Bath, & would love to come back. We could just move right into these apartments - a spotlessly clean home from home... but with a lot of luxury. Gorgeous.

Our apartment (#2) was brand new, really nicely done and well equipped. It was perfect for our family of 5 - so much better than having to take 2 hotel rooms.

We had 2 double bedrooms plus an extra pull out double bed in the lounge. The kitchen was big with plenty of room to sit and relax while the children were sleeping. Big TVs in all rooms!

Nice touches: a Nespresso machine and capsules, 2 pints of milk. Also the basics were covered as they often aren't in apartments: loo roll, dishwasher and washing machine tabs and washing up liquid.

Finally, that location was perfect - really central and with a great rooftop view.

Great spot.

The staff, Katrin, was very helpful prior to our arrival in Bath and on receiving us. The apartment was simply superb, fitted with luxury setting and great value for money for the introductory rate (the apartment was recently opened when we stayed on 4th Feb 2014) at GBP175/night. The price could increase later but this apartment would be an excellent option to international hotels and comfortable for families with young children. Located at George Street, it is close to centre of Bath and major tourist attraction like the Abbey and Jane Austen centre which are within walking distance.

Parking in close to the apartment is not easy. However, a large parking area is available at Charlotte Street, about 5 minutes walk from the apartment. Long term parking charges are GBP8.50 for a day parking.
