We stayed at Beech Cottage for a long weekend. Jeff and Jacqui are lovely people - very laid back and welcoming. Excellent porridge at breakfast!! We felt instantly at home and would stay at Beech Cottage again if we return to Bath.

We stayed with the lovely Jeff & Jacqui in early May. We were on a three month trip around Europe and it was here that we felt the closest to home! We were warmly welcomed, with a cup of tea and a thorough introduction to Bath city! Jeff has a wealth of knowledge, and helped us plan our stay in Bath, to ensure we saw as much of Bath as we could!
We stayed for three nights in the King room. The room was nice and warm upon our return each evening, the bed was comfortable and the showers were hot and the pressure was great! Breakfast each morning was delicious too. Jacqui was up early every morning, preparing a healthy breakfast. Her Jamaican porridge was incredible! The new addition to the family JJ, a gorgeous white fluffy pup, provided a laugh after breakfast was cleaned up.
This B&B is located a little bit out of town, but there is a bus stop at the end of the driveway which takes you right into the city center, which is only a short walk down hill. Free Wifi & Free parking were also a bonus here.
Highly recommend staying here in Bath. We looked at many places to stay but are very glad we chose to stay here!

Tucked off the main road so a little challenging to find late at night. Welcoming host comfortable room with adequate en suite (powerful shower).
Host happy for us to oredr in late night pizza for hungry teenager and eat in the kitchen.
Lovely wholesome breakfast but no cooked option (made clear by host and on booking details)

We stayed here a few weeks ago and were very comfortable. Jeff was very helpful with local information about Bath and Jacqui made breakfast for us each morning. There is a bus service that runs quite close to the house although we chose to walk down the hill to the town on the first day. You have to go down a lane to access the cottage but once you know where it is that's easy. Would stay there again if ever we go to Bath again.

We are so pleased we stayed with Jeff and Jacqui at Beech Cottage. The location just out of the city is great as the bus goes straight past the property and it's only a short trip to the city centre. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was great. The property has a lovely garden area to sit and enjoy a cuppa or a glass of wine. The owners are so helpful and easy to get on with that we felt like we had made new friends! Highly recommended!

Dear D and P, Thank you for a great review - we thoroughly enjoyed your stay too! It is especially rewarding for us when guests allow themselves time to explore Bath at a gentle pace and they take away so much more than 'whistlestop tourists'. Best wishes from Jacqui and Jeff and JJ.

We chose Beech Cottage because of the positive reviews and we are very glad we did. From the moment we arrived, Jeff and Jacqui were friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home with a cup of tea and some suggestions for how to make the most of our stay. On our first evening we had a good meal in the local pub which is just around the corner. Our twin room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed breakfast - the porridge, toast and coffee were all excellent quality and extras such as yoghurt and fruit salad set us up for the day's sightseeing. We had intended to walk into the city centre (it's downhill) but used the bus instead to avoid getting totally soaked in the rain! 2 days were not enough to see everything that Bath has to offer so we will definitely return to the area and will hope to stay with Jeff and Jacqui again.

Thank you A & J for a lovely review:)
You stayed in our little twin room which is consistently popular, both for the twin bed format and for being our best priced room.
Because so many guests prefer twin beds we are investing in an upgrade of one of our double rooms. Very soon it will have a brand new zip and link bed offering guests the choice of a super comfortable 6ft wide double or twin 3ft singles. It offers a little more space and lovely views of the garden and the woods beyond. Perhaps if you make another trip to Bath you woud like to try our 'superior twin'. Best wishes J&J&JJ

Just got back from a great 2 day stay at Beech cottage where your are really made welcome by both Jeff and Jacqui.
Jeff is a great fountain of local knowledge with great suggestions of places to visit and is justifiably proud of both his business and his city of Bath.
Rooms great, if only just a little cramped, but you cant change that!!!!!
Shower was the best I have ever experienced in a small establishment, you normally only get a trickle!!
Breakfasts were a little different to "the norm", the 2nd day was better than the 1st probably due to us getting more used to the informality.
The only slight downside was that after the 1st night shower gel, tea and coffee and loo rolls were not replaced, I can only assume it was forgotten, I would have asked (and without doubt been given) but we got back late on on the Friday so didn't really want to impose.
Have no hesitation in recommending Beech Cottage, its so relaxing, peaceful and quiet.

Well done Jeff and Jacqui, Beech cottage is something to be proud of and a great example of how to run a small business.

Room Tip: Tip, listen to Jeff's recommendations, all proved to be correct and highly informative

Thank you A & K for a great review and for your thoughtful observations. We are so glad we invested in a completely new hot water system last year and happy to hear you enjoyed your showers:-) Because so many guests like the twin bed format we will soon we will be offering a 'superior twin' with more space and lovely views. We aim to stock the rooms for a two night stay and routinely offer fresh towels and a room make-up for a third night. Most guests prefer their rooms to be left alone for a two night stay, but we are keen to please all everybody so we might look for some of those labels that hang on the room door requesting a make-up. All the best and thank you for staying at Beech Cottage:) J&J&JJ
