For Christmas, we got a class here as a present, and not knowing what to expect, we ended-up having a really good time. It was an early start on a Saturday, but we were met by a cheery Will and Harry (yes, I know). Both were quite young, but very experienced, and - more importantly - very funny.
We spent the morning learning about glass-making, and step-by-step we were taken through the process of making a paper-weight each. It was a lot of fun, and while my finished result was a bit poor, my girlfriend's paperweight came out really well (she is far more artistic than me).
We hung-around afterwards to watch some glass-blowing, which was really interesting. With us out of the way, the two blokes knocked-out a range of elephants, glasses and baubles. I will never look at a wine-glass the same way again.
So, wear sturdy shoes, and make sure your arms are covered as well. It gets very hot, but was a most unusual (and thoroughly enjoyable) present. It's a good job The Bell, one of Bath's best pubs, is right next door because it's thirsty work!
