“They saved the day”

We wound up at the Avon after our original reservations at another guesthouse were messed up and we were room less.

We were very pleased with to "wind up" at the Avon.

The family room was on the top floor and had a double bed and a twin. The room was large and nicely finished. The room was very clean and the beds quite comfy. The bathroom was clean with the usual appliances (sink, toilet & shower).

The house is a very short walk from "downtown" Bath. This was very convenient. We did not have to drive or walk a long way to get home after a long afternoon /evening exploring town.

Another plus is the Avon had its own small car park. No extra costs for your car.

Breakfast was cooked to order and very good/filling.

We were quite worried when our original reservations were lost but Julie came to our rescue. We actually think we had a better stay and an overall better deal (location, value) with Julie. We definitely recommend her and the Avon.

We were lucky to have got rooms here being Christmas Market weekend, but really glad we did. Julie and her mum could not do enough for you, nothing was a problem you only had to ask. As soon as we arrived Julie shifted cars around so we could park. We were allocated to a large family room (for just 2 of us) which had a bath and shower. The room was very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need, including my pet hate, hangers!!!, normally of short supply but not here! About the only thing theu don't have is free Wi Fi which Julie is getting in January. The breafasts were perfect, just the right size, cooked excellently, nothing was overdone or greasy. The location is fantastic only 5 minutes from city centre and across the road from a pub which also serves good real ale and hearty sized pub meals. Julie has clearly worked hard to build this business having spent a lot of time slowly refurbishing and getting it right, and their customer service couldn't be better, friendly, providing advice on where to go helpful in all matters...........our first trip to Bath (a lovely city with great architecture) an excellent Christmas market and certainly not the last trip to this lovely B&B.

Room Tip: Room 4 gas a bath,

Recently under new ownership (Julie) - a delightful B&B - our twin room was decorated to a high standard, very clean en suite, hair dryer, clean sheets and very comfortable beds. The location was 5 minutes walk away from the city centre. Julie made us feel very welcome and was very accommodating. We had free parking for the 2 days we were there. The cooked breakfast was delicious, it wasn't fatty, cooked to perfection. We highly recommend it and will be returning to Avon Guest House again in the future.

Myself and my husband spend two nights at The Avon in September 2012.
We were on a short city break to Bath.
We were welcomed into the guest house very warmly by the owner Julie who showed us to the free parking, and then to our room.
The room was very clean and well decorated. The bed was comfortable and the room had adequete storage space for clothes. The en suite shower room was also very clean and had fresh towels ready for us to use.
The breakfast included choice of cereals, juice, hot drinks and cooked breakfast. I only wanted beans on toast on the second morning and this was no problem!
I would say this guest house provides excellant value for money with friendly and helpful service. I would recommend to anyone visiting Bath.

Un B&B plein de charme ! A warm welcome, a very helpful and friendly owner, a location very close to the city center, a very nice breakfast. And all the rooms have been redecorated in lovely Laura Ashley wallpaper and have very nice furniture. Chic et charme ! Modern ensuite bathrooms. And free parking around the corner. Julie had no twin room available for the first night but gave us a twin for the rest of our stay. We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend this address.

Great location much closer to Bath than anticipated, as it was so reasonably priced. Very warm welcome, good size room, basic but clean. Very hearty breakfast, would recommend and return. Thanks to Julie and your Mum for such lovely hospitality.
