Description: When the King William restaurant in Bath was converted from the knackered pub it used to be, it became it gastronomic hotspot for Bath-ites who adore the excellent food and relaxed setting. The ground floor is a pub, with the fine dining room upstairs, all now eclectically kitted out with in shades of mauve with antiques, chandeliers and daily blackboard specials. Seasonal, free-range, organic and local sum up the provenance perfectly, for dishes like fried squid with fennel, ruby chard and green sauce and main of fantastic braised lamb for two with herb broth, mash and local greens. Superb small-producer beers and ales and a blistering wine list crown King William a top restaurant in Bath.

On the London road as you enter Bath. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere . This is the third time we have been here and the food has always been a great experience . It is very well presented and cooked. On this occasion my beef steak was a bit small which was unusual . My partner's pork chop was huge ! Well worth the visit . You need to park your car at Morrissons or by the lights coming into Bath from the fire station.

“Brilliant find...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

I was given the daunting task of booking a meal for 10 ladies on a sophisticated hen night in Bath. After scouring reviews and menus, I was lucky enough to find the King William. There are 2 private rooms upstairs, one of which comfortably seated our party.
From start to finish, the service was faultless. Anna sent menus, answered lots of questions (we had pregnant vegetarians to cater for) and was there on the night to look after us.
The food was stunning, absolutely delicious, not at all your usual party menu fare, and at less than £30 for 3 courses, really good value too.
Everyone really enjoyed themselves and it was only a few minutes' walk back into the city centre (for the less sophisticated part of our evening!). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and we'll be back as soon as we can.

“Food divine & service top notch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

What can I say, but it was one of the best meals both of us have had in such a long time! The starters, mains and deserts were so tasty - I would make the trip from London just to come back and eat here! The ciders here also went down a treat. Can't forget about the people who work there as they were also helpful, friendly and who seem to run a tight ship. Have already recommended to plenty of people already!

“looks can be deceiving!”

fabulous fresh, local produce with an excellent wine list and daily specials. This place looks like a bog standard city pub. Upstairs is a tranquil oasis that leads to food heaven!

“Very good lunch indeed”

This is a small place where detail counts with regard to food. The fennel marmalade with my salmon rillette was very very good. The pork belly is highly recommended and puddings awesome. Definitely a place to pop into either for a light bite or a serious meal if you have an appetite.
