We ate here for maybe the fifth time with visiting friends, having explained why we loved the food at our "local" more that any of the may restaurants in the centre.
Although our guests thought the starters were on the small side, everyone loved their dishes.
The plaice I had was perfectly cooked and delicious. My husband's pork with beans earthy and robust.
We chose to eat upstairs as it feels a little more special than in the pub downstairs. The evening would have been perfect if we had been offered bread, if we hadn't been left to light the candles on our table ourselves and if water had been offered rather than having to ask for it.
