The location of this lovely little cottage is quite special! Down a quiet country lane, but right off a busy road near Bath, it is easy to miss, so follow the directions carefully. Once you are there, the cottage has everything you will need for a weekend or a week's stay. The kitchen is well equipped and there's a cozy wood burner in the living room and comfortable seating. Bedrooms upstairs are comfortable and the bath is modern. Our charming host was nearby, lives in the house next door, and was so helpful and pleasant to talk with for directions, and suggestions for touring. There are chickens, dogs and farm animals, and the house overlooks fields and the orchard. Public walking paths in the area abound, but it's muddy! Leave your boots at the door, and relax after a day of touring, watching the sun set over the orchard, while enjoying the lovely welcome basket provided. Bath is about ten minutes drive. In March it wasn't crowded, so we were able to drive and park easily. Summers may be a different story, but I understand buses are nearby to avoid driving and parking. We also drove to the lower Cotswalds for a day trip from here, Glastonbury and Wells Cathedral are not far, and there is plenty to see and do in Bath.
