When you want to dine in style this could be that place. Great service and really great food and wine served in the surroundings that shout class and sophistication. Not pretentious at all. The Priory made our anniversary celebrations with family very special. The only part that felt rushed was when we arrived and were encouraged to choose our drinks and good from the excellent menu but that could have been due to a large party in. Once at the table the pace slowed down and we all really enjoyed the experience and attention. Definitely on the places to return to list

Faultless, from the greeting you receive upon arrival to the thanks that you get upon departure this restaurant helps to give Bath it's high quality reputation.
Everything about this restaurant is good, the total experience, menu, service, wine selection and ambiance all contribute to a wholly worthwhile experience.

“Outstanding with loads to drink”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014 via mobile

Had the taster menu incl optional extra cheese course. Drinks on patio with "snacks" was lovely and the eight course meal all beautiful. We had the wine flight which at a glass per course was a lot to drink esp as the courses were tiny. Expensive but worth it for smspecialoccasion

“Lovely garden”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

Had lunch here on a Thursday. The set menu was very reasonably priced for such a fancy place and my food was very nice (my aunt and mother weren't so fussed with their mains). The staff were very pleasant but the service was really slow. We were there for about 2 and a half hours and only had two courses. The puddings sounded nice but we dreaded to think how long we would have to wait for them so gave them a miss.

We were sat on the terrace and the garden and old building were very pretty. We were eating off the pantry menu, maybe the main restaurant has better service?

“Better late than never!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

Some very good friends bought me a Lunch for Two voucher as a birthday present some time ago, which I promptly lost! The good people at the Priory not only honoured the voucher but added an extra month when I discovered that I had missed the expiry date! I have to say our lunch was one of the best ever: the setting was superb - we had aperitifs in the garden and the sun shone! We were called in to the fabulous dining room and the service throughout the meal was attentive but not intrusive. For starters I had the Cured Loch Duart salmon while my partner had the roast garden vegetables - grown in their own garden. The highlight was the stuffed breast of Wiltshire lamb for our mains - the well worn phrase " melt in the mouth" really did apply here. Nevertheless, we both managed the dark chocolate mousse for dessert, followed by coffee in their magnificent drawing room.
