Description: Raphael restaurant is a much loved restaurant located in the heart of the beautiful city of Bath. Open since 2001 Raphael has established an excellent reputation for serving fabulous European inspired modern British food. Raphael has a cosy atmosphere and exquisite food, perfect for leisurely lunches, pre-theatre dining and intimate meals for two, the ideal place for any occasion. The head chef and his team create imaginative dishes using the freshest local produce available, with the emphasis on seasonality. At Raphael all of the mouth-watering desserts are made in-house, including the delicious ice-creams and sorbets. The friendly and professional staff welcome you warmly, whether you area visitor to the city or one of the regular clientele, many of whom have become good friends over the years. The wine list has been carefully chosen to ensure wines that complement the food perfectly, with reasonable prices, coupled with some amazing bin-ends.

Good choice of food served pleasantly in a nice environment. Well established restaurant, confortable and not rushed. Handy for the theatre

Menu is small (a great thing in my opinion, do a small number of dishes really well), and this place delivers.

Its cosy, there is atmosphere of tables close to each other, a buzz. Food is great, its not cheap but its worth it. Pre theatre menu looked good.

Check the menu prior to visiting, as you could come unstuck with a small choice, our dishes were fab and everything that came past us looked amazing.

Would recommend

We arrived at 19.25 and looked full but they found us a table. Most people then left (i had showered) for theatre. Nice bottle of red (not frenxh). We ordered venison and steak. Best food we had in bath. Finished off with creme brulee and coffee. Great staff. Would go again.

Six of us ended up eating here a few days after Christmas. First we tried Turtle Bay; although they were practically empty the task of putting tables together was too much for the staff so we left and wandered into Raphael. It was already quite busy with only 2 waitresses serving but we were warmly welcomed and looked after. The food is not amazing but very good and the wine list is not bad at all. A very nice place to go for a decent meal and the specials for pre theatre look very good. Thanks

This restaurant was ideal as it was literally across the road from the theatre. We had the theatre meal which was 2 courses for £16.95 and then added a pudding as it was so scrumptious. Service was excellent and would definitely recommend.
