Excellent 3 mile, slightly less than 2 hour walk, start Jacob Ladder and go all the way round, at the end of the first part cross the road and do the second part you will see very impressive views of the Gorge by doing the second part and then you arrive back at the shops..take good shoes to walk in, really worth doing

Found Cheddar village very tacky. Shops selling tourist tat that is available anywhere in the country. Best part was driving up through the gorge to get out! Cheddar Gorge itself is spectacular.

We really enjoyed our time here. There was so much to see and do. It was a beautiful day and the walk up the gorge was stunning. There were plenty of small gift shops and places to eat in the village and some toilets by the car park.

I’d recommend entering the gorge from the north and stopping at a car park on the way down to take in the size of it. You can walk down to cheddar from a car park in the gorge but there’s also parking in the village itself. There’s lots to see and buy in the village even if caving and walking aren’t your thing.
