Having lived in Somerset for many years previously and visiting with a friend with limited mobility we didn't want to visit all the attractions. To even park for an hour to have a coffee and soak up the atmosphere would have been £5

However, If you have the time and energy the caves etc are excellent - take your spare batteries or lots of red bull!!

Visited this" shop" to watch sweets being made. The guy doing demo was very moody, hardy spoke and when he did it was with his back to his audience. Then we(family i was with)witnessed him wipe his sweaty head and face on a towel and put THE TOWEL over sweets that were coming out of a drum!!! then as if we wernt ready to be sick at that, a lady with him picked a long white board off the DIRTY floor and let the fresh sweets pass on it!! i think the food hygiene ppl really need to give this horrible, dirty place a visit.I will never eat sweets again!!!!. Recommend you take the kids, there be put off sweets for life.

A great walk around the cliff top although very steep in parts and tricky on the descent were the path is stones and mud. The view is wonderful and it is a great day out.

Was told at a local B&B that cheddar gorge not really worth seeing, but am glad we did not listen to him. It was a lovely place to see.

We paid to walk up the 274 steps to do the cliff top walk. It was steep and a tad tiring, but only took about 10 minutes. Then more up hills as you walk along the cliff. You can do it at your own pace and stop off for some photos. Some wonderful views of the country side but not really of the gorge as you are on it. For £5 a person not bad value and we were up there for close to 2 hours and didn't even walk the whole way.

We then stopped at the different parking places and had a look at the gorge and cliffs from down below. Only £5 for parking the whole day and could park in any parking area of there were place.

We didn't go into the caves, which have been told is expensive, but had a lovely half day for only £15. Lots of cafes and tea rooms and tourists shops to walk around too.

Would recommend doing there even if just for 30 mins!! Wonderful part of nature.
