“a good stay”
Reviewed 8 April 2012

We stayed four nights in March and found it to be handy for exploring the local area. One main reason for choosing this hotel was the availability of a smoking room; thank you. The staff were friendly and explained the service road mentioned in other reviews and gave directions to the nearby pub which served an excellent meal; just as well as the service area was rather discouraging. By seven pm. there wasn't much left and what there was looked tired. We used the Burger King once- that was enough. On other evenings we drove into Weston. The hotel itself was clean, the shower good and the bed comfy.

we booked this hotel as a base so we could go to see the cheddar gorge and weston-super-mere.,its in the middle.
It is in the service station but not noisey and there is a pub 0.75 miles away about 30 min walk down a dark road,so bring a torch. The service is good and the place clean.

Room Tip: £5 extra for pets.

Excellent rooms for the price. No where to go as it is in the services but good free WiFi. If its just a bed you want it is ideal.

We stayed here one night on the way to Cornwall and one night on our return. It is very hard to find reasonable accommodation with a small dog and this hotel is a little gem. I never thought I would stay on a motorway service area, as it had never appealed, but I was so glad that I did.
The staff were wonderful, better than much more expensive hotels that we have stayed in in the past.

As previously stated there is a small service road at the back on the hotel which makes it easier to travel south on the motorway. Also there is a small pub, the Brent Knoll Inn along the road which is excellent for a pint or a meal. They don't do food on a Sunday evening, but when we enquired where else we could get a meal on our return, the landlord said he would do us anything off the menu.

If you have a dog with you, there is ample room for walking them. All in all and excellent stay.

Room Tip: A room at the back is quieter. We had one at the front on the way back, but the service area was qu...

Used the vouchers in the paper for 2 nights stay with our friends, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and ideal as we were wanting somewhere to sleep only and go out hiking around the area. Although its next to services in M5 you can't hear any noise from the motorway and its not that busy. The hotel has a service road for guests which takes you through the lanes at the back rather than getting on the motorway to come off again. Definately use again.
