In the heart of Dunster with a lovely beer garden at the back - we ate here twice during our week long stay at nearby Dunster beach.

Lots of things to do in Dunster if you love history.

The food was of good quality and was very reasonably priced.

Have eaten here several times - lovely surroundings and good pub food. Friendly service, good atmosphere. Some of the tables are a bit small, but then again, it is a small pub. Highly recommended.

Ate at the pub twice. There was a tempting range of dishes to choose from. The food was delicious and served by cheerful, efficient and friendly staff.

Our first evening in the west country. At 6.00pm we called into the Stags Head for supper. The room was tired and the cleaner must have been too tired to bother with the room we ate in!

It took an hour to deliver our food (2 adults and one child). The food was flavourless, the vegetables were raw!

We should have left when the owner told the couple on the next table, that the food was bought in and reheated on the premises ... even fish pie!

Just don't bother with this place.

Sorry it's taken so long to reply, but we have been rather busy serving our customers who appreciate and enjoy our wonderful food. Obviously, you were less than impressed with your visit to us, but to then use a slanderous and misquoted statement in your review is unjust. I was not telling the couple on the next table that ALL the food was bought in and reheated, I was talking about the award winning pies we have on our menu, that are made fresh, locally and come in uncooked, so obviously have to be cooked (or heated, if you like?) on the premises. We use a locally sourced product, by a local company, and also are able to sell them at a reasonable price to our customers by doing so,

Terry, Proprietor, Stags Head Inn
