“A little gem!”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

This hotel is a real gem. It is set in the middle of Dunster, a beautiful village, and covers 6 old buildings (so it is a bit of a rabbit warren!). The rooms are cosy and comfortable, with a lovely comfy bed and everything thought of. The service is great, I was part of a large group, which they handled with ease. Food is lovely and the beer is good, what more can you want! They are dog friendly and they run themed things like walking in Exmoor.

Would absolutely return!

Room Tip: Top floor was nice and quiet!

Cozy old hotel with great rooms. It feels like you're back in the 19th century with present day commodities. Great service in a lovely location.
The restaurant is the downside of this hotel. Food could be better.

Six of us enjoyed a great few days here while we walked the first part of the South West Coastal Path. Anthony, the hotel owner, could not have been more helpful. Rooms were comfortable, breakfasts were generous and we always looked forward to the evening meals. Would recommend this hotel for walkers doing the SWCP or anyone lookibg for a relaxing break in glorious countryside.

As with all our accommodation this trip we are generally booking just the night before and relying on good judgement to find a good place.
The Yarn Market in Dunster was another excellent choice. We didn't eat there for dinner but the breakfast had the best bacon we have had in UK. A good crisp cooked bacon rind edge!
The place was a stroll from Dunster Castle and although the weather not too kind we found plenty to do here.

Room Tip: At the back of the hotel is very quiet albeit is a bit of a route march to get there up the stairs...

What a wonderful place, hotel comfortable, rooms beautifully decorated and staff so willing to make our stay special, nothing was too much trouble. The food was really good in fact we had trouble deciding what to choose each night. The hotel is ideally situated to visit the surrounding area and it was great returning each night to the comfort of the hotel. The village is beautiful and it even has it's own castle with the most amazing grounds. We can definitely recommend to all and will be planning a return trip

Room Tip: We had room 15 which had four poster bed, lovely view over the village square. Room 16 brilliant for...

Just spent a 3-day break at the Yarn Market Hotel. The place was full to the brim with the consequential opportunity to put quality standards under pressure. There was no need to worry.....the hotel management and staff were perfect...the rooms comfortable....and the food excellent. The hotel gets my highest praise and I am already looking forward to a return visit.
