Great house for a restful stay that suits a group of friends or families. All bedrooms are a good size with modern bathrooms. The owner is happy to make up rooms to suit your bed requirements. A very spacious living space and well equipped private spa.
You don't need to leave the property if staying for the weekend as there is so much to do but if you do it's in a lovely area.
I would love to visit again
Myself and a group of 16 others, inc Baby Jack, have just returned from another great stay at The Pictureworks in Somerset. This is the second year running we have stayed at the house and, again, thought it was ideal! What with the hot tub, spa, swimming pool, pool table (be it a little wonky!), football table and all the open plan living space, it fitted 16 of us perfectly.
Gill and her family were welcoming as ever and were very informative about what to do in the area. All I can say is a very big thank you to Gill and can highly recommend!
p.s. If you want a great meal - head to The Devonshire Arms - it's within walking distance and the food is amazing!!
I was fortunate to get a last minute booking for a short break as a birthday surprise for my wife. Gill our host, was brilliant and super responsive from start to finish. The photos do not do the place justice and this party house could easily accommodate 16 people in absolute comfort. The pool table, football table, table tennis, basket ball nets, boules, twister (I could go on...) kept all the family entertained. That still left the in house spa room (sauna, bucket shower, steam room and hot tub) for the adults - although kids joined in with that too. To add to the fun, there was shared use of a heated swimming pool just a ten second walk from the front door! Whilst it was shared with other properties, we had it pretty much to ourselves during the day. All in all the only problem you will have with this property is being able to book it - I can understand why it is so popular. So if you are lucky enough to find a slot that works for you book it, you will not be disappointed.
Just spent 5 days at The picture works was a group of 9 of us age from 28 to 38. We went for a break and a babymoon for myself (I'm 30weeks pregnant) on arrival gill met us and showed us around and a homemade cake was left for us which we all loved
We had a private chef on our 2nd night which we booked through Gills page and we couldn't rate it enough.
Loved the lay out of the house, all had king sized beds, amazing spa and we loved the hot tub
We all enjoyed our stay and would defiantly recommend and would come back once our baby is born
Thanks again to Gill and Simon we loved it
If you want a holiday to remember with you friends and family Pictueworks is the place to go. Super accommodation and facilities, everything from 3 year old to 70. There was something for all the family. My grandchildren range from 3 to 19, not once did any one say i'm bored [miracle ah] . Everything was spotlessly clean pool, sauna, hot tub the whole place immaculate We can all say the beds were very very comfortable, but if you do want a lie in don't let any one play on the table football game before 10am. It made my husband and I Golden wedding anniversary a time never to forget . Thank you Gill and family.
We had originally booked to stay in Little Upton Threshing Barn (which we were over the moon with anyway as we had stayed there 2 years before and had been amazed at how good it was). There was a problem with the hot tub before we arrived so Gill upgraded us to Pictureworks with no extra charge. We were all completely blown away with this house, it is perfect and exactly as pictured (maybe even better). Hot tub and steam room/sauna is cleaned every night and are pristine. The garden is huge and so much room for activities and games (many are there already: pool table, foosball table, ping pong, basketball, board games). Gill was absolutely lovely and even baked us a cake for our arrival (which was delicious). 20 mins walk to the Devonshire Arms which again was incredible (one of the best Sunday roasts we've all had), other than that it's a really peaceful countryside village. The garden is not over looked and there is a shared pool which was great fun too. The house itself is absolutely huge with great sized bedrooms, loads of bathrooms I can't even count how many, and the communal spaces are massive too so plenty of room for everyone to hang out in the same place at the same time. The house was also really sound proof so when we were listening to music late at night you couldn't hear it with the doors shut which was nice not to have to worry about disturbing the neighbours. I wouldn't hesitant in booking any of Gill's properties in the future. It would work well for groups of friends, families, young kids, couples, hen parties, literally everybody. Our group of friends hire a house every summer and both of Gills are the best we've ever stayed in by a long way (Pictureworks taking the top spot). HIGHLY recommend.
