Chindit House is a beautiful, traditional house, well-screened from the road by tall hedging and set in a large garden. The interior is uniquely ornamented with many African pictures and interesting pieces of statuary. We were welcomed warmly with a tray of tea in the garden and fruit and chocs in our room. The latter was very spacious, attractively furnished with a large sitting area, and lavishly appointed with a lovely en suite bathroom and a fantastically comfortable 6' bed. In the evening we explored the interesting town centre which is only 2 or 3 minutes walk away and then relaxed in the comfortable lounge. It was totally quiet and after a good night's sleep we were treated to a superb cooked breakfast. Our only regret was that our schedule prevented us from extending our stay!

The first time we stayed in Chindit House, turned to be a wonderful experience, we longed long after we left. We returned to Glastonbury and one of the reasons was to sleep in the fabulous beds of Chindit House, to pamper our senses with the flowers everywere, and to enjoy the fabulous breakfast, with excellent quality of cheeses, hams, salmon etc. It

A fine place to stay: an eclectic mix of artefacts added to the period feel of this "hidden" mansion. Perhaps it should be mentioned, on the web page, that there are two dogs and a cat: not that they were allowed to intrude for an instant; but there are some people who do not enjoy pets. However, this is an excellent place to stay, and, although expensive, is a far better proposition than most hotels.

In Glastonbury we were directed to this beautiful accommodation near the centre and we have really enjoyed this exceptional B&B. It has an abundance of a warm welcome by Felicity and Peter; a high standard, spacious room with first-class beds, remarkable details like fresh fruit, chocolate, flowers etc.; tasteful organic breakfast and elegant decoration. The Chindit House has an open atmosphere through the owner’s couple. In addition to all this, there is a magnificent collection of sculptures and paintings. It has been a great pleasure to have stayed here. We highly recommend this B&B!

Chindit House is without doubt one of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in. On arrival I was greeted by the owner Peter (and Boris the cat) and treated to tea and biscuits on the terrace. He showed me some good local walks on a map, and was (and remained throughout my stay) incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were amazing (and featured a lot of local produce), the room gorgeous, the bed comfortable, the location perfect. And the two charming dogs were a lovely bonus.

The best bed and breakfast I ever stayed and by far better than many hotels of 4 even 5 star. Huge rooms with lovely floral and home style decoration . A touch of class everywhere from the fresh flowers all over the place to the complimentary fresh fruits in the room. And the best bed you could imagine. It is like sleeping in a cloud (as I found out only the mattresses from Harrods costs 3000 Pounds each and really worth it). Art also is everywhere in the form of sculptures and paintings. There is a big green garden where you can sit, walk or play with the friendly dogs. The breakfast was really superb: home made jam, marmalades , a plate of first class variety of cheeses, another with fine ham and hot plate choices. Because we were a small group of friends we had booked all the rooms and felt like being guests in a beautiful villa with grate hosts. I would strongly recommend Chindit House to anyone who has high standards and appreciates good taste and elegance.

We booked a last minute honeymoon for a couple of days and we were really blessed to have found Chindit House.

We arrived and was welcomed by Peter with tea in his beautiful large garden, a real oasis that is right in the centre of Glastonbury. He could not do enough for us and he made us feel special throughout our stay.

The period house has works of art littered around and it is a real joy sitting in the large lounge.

Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and large. The extra touches in the room were more 4 star hotel than B&B, chocolates, fresh fruit, flowers, tea and coffee and top of the range shampoo.

The breakfast was simply great, it was served in a country kitchin and consisted of fresh local produce. Not only fresh fruit etc but a cheese board with wonderful somerset brie.

If you get the chance stay here, we will be going back just as soon as we can!
