“Slipping standards”
Reviewed 5 May 2014 via mobile

We've eaten at La Terre several times in the last 3 years, and until now have always been happy. This time however was different. The (new?) manager didn't offer a welcome despite it being a quiet period, he just sat at an adjacent table reading his paper, whilst his dog sniffed around us. Our breakfast order was incomplete when it arrived, a drink missing, and food too. The music was too loud to hear one another. The 2 waiting staff were polite and friendly, and the food good.
The energy and efficiency of previous visits had disappeared. Once he'd finished the paper the manager took himself off for a walk, and on his return sat at the same table with friends, and appeared not to be 'managing' at all.
Not inspired to return.

“Could be great”
Reviewed 2 May 2014 via mobile

Stopped by at 1pm on a Friday and was told immediately that there would be a 20 minute wait for food, but stayed. Manager was brilliant and the restaurant has a great feel. Unfortunately the waitress was sullen to say the least.

The 20 minute wait actually lasted over an hour. There must have been a problem behind the scenes. We were apologised to and we still had an enjoyable lunch. The food was OK. Nothing special. It was reasonably priced.

I'm sure we'd go again if in Glastonbury (won't be as I've had enough of hippies for one day). Just a pity Gig's doesn't do lunch has we wanted to go there.

“Possibly the nicest, cleanest, value for money in the South West”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

The menu is mouth watering at a glance and we were not disappointed, very friendly staff who were clean and very well presented, Charlie was the chef for the day and a delight to talk to, her excellent attitude and knowledgable response to my questions were a refreshing change from some of the cafés and eateries I have visited all over the UK.. I would highly recommend a visit to La Terre and there fresh home made cakes look Devine, shame I did not have room for cake maybe next time...toilets spotless and free wifi, comfortable seating and light airy atmosphere.

“La Terre, Glastonbury”

Recommended place to eat by B&B. Very nice restaurant, tasteful, comfortable, and relaxed. Fantastic calameri starter. Main course disappointingly bland having been described as spicy. No action taken whatsoever when I made the comment to the waitress.

We were recommeneed this restaurant. It has a nice ambiance, the staff were really helpful and friendly.
Ng the che starters were really tasty however, our main course of Belly of Pork was somewhat disgusting. The dish it self we knew wld be a little greasy but the amount of butter and dressing ended up laying on the bottom of the dish making it completely inedible, plus the meat had just been cooked so was rather a tough chew. We mentioned this to the staff after they saw we hadn't eaten the dish. Belly of Pork requires slow cooking with draining fat off making the meat tender.
It was unfortunate we chose this dish, Belly of Pork is a cheap meal but on this menu it was the most expensive!
