“Wrong food and awful service!”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

The last time we visited La Terre we vowed not to return, but our friends dragged us along for lunch. Oh dear...my antipasta managed to leave out several ingrediants and they forgot to toast the bread. Waited half an hour for the wine to arrive and 45 minutes for the food. No, it wasn't busy so no excuses. This time we really won't return.

“Terrible service and luke warm coffee”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

We popped into La Terre for the first time on Sunday morning. Despite the crowds forming for the race it was reasonbly early and still quiet inside and there were plenty of tables to sit at. A waiter came to take out order straightaway, a coffee and a mocha. We waited about 20 mins while the waitress behind the counter stood talking to others, generally doing anything other than preparing our drinks. At one point I was about to ask how much longer we were expected to wait when it seemed that finally she had decided to prepare our drinks. When they arrived mine was luke warm. We paid £4.70 for a cup of lukewarm mocha and a small coffee. The waiter did apologise for the wait - but to be honest there was no reason for our drinks to have taken so long. They were not busy, only the waitress, chatting! A shame.

“Slipping standards”
Reviewed 5 May 2014 via mobile

We've eaten at La Terre several times in the last 3 years, and until now have always been happy. This time however was different. The (new?) manager didn't offer a welcome despite it being a quiet period, he just sat at an adjacent table reading his paper, whilst his dog sniffed around us. Our breakfast order was incomplete when it arrived, a drink missing, and food too. The music was too loud to hear one another. The 2 waiting staff were polite and friendly, and the food good.
The energy and efficiency of previous visits had disappeared. Once he'd finished the paper the manager took himself off for a walk, and on his return sat at the same table with friends, and appeared not to be 'managing' at all.
Not inspired to return.

“Could be great”
Reviewed 2 May 2014 via mobile

Stopped by at 1pm on a Friday and was told immediately that there would be a 20 minute wait for food, but stayed. Manager was brilliant and the restaurant has a great feel. Unfortunately the waitress was sullen to say the least.

The 20 minute wait actually lasted over an hour. There must have been a problem behind the scenes. We were apologised to and we still had an enjoyable lunch. The food was OK. Nothing special. It was reasonably priced.

I'm sure we'd go again if in Glastonbury (won't be as I've had enough of hippies for one day). Just a pity Gig's doesn't do lunch has we wanted to go there.

“Possibly the nicest, cleanest, value for money in the South West”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

The menu is mouth watering at a glance and we were not disappointed, very friendly staff who were clean and very well presented, Charlie was the chef for the day and a delight to talk to, her excellent attitude and knowledgable response to my questions were a refreshing change from some of the cafés and eateries I have visited all over the UK.. I would highly recommend a visit to La Terre and there fresh home made cakes look Devine, shame I did not have room for cake maybe next time...toilets spotless and free wifi, comfortable seating and light airy atmosphere.
