This is a very friendly, warm, innovative venue with very nice people running it. They provide a cheerful and friendly venue promoting talented local artists, as well as a haven for people to come in and relax in the cafe! The art gallery updates regularly with new exhibitions. The work I have come to see has included paintings, jewellery, wood carvings, prints, cards, ceramics and other artefacts. The exhibitions display a rich diversity in talent and differences in approach to art. The art gallery space is lit from above by diffused, natural daylight effect lighting, an ingenious creation of Paul, one of the owners; the lighting is so subtle and unobtrusive, it is a blessing.
The food here is excellent. The staff are genuinely helpful. I am not a gourmet, but (probably due to my increasing age) I really appreciate it when food is impeccably prepared. The salad I had with my food was the best I have ever tasted; dressings were well-balanced, texture good, flavours surprisingly good. It is possible to be blown away by a salad!
This is a welcoming venue which is run by people with great integrity who want to bring communities closer together. Just like its lovely town, Glastonbury, the Blue Cedar Cafe & Art Gallery is very sympathetic to people of all backgrounds. Blue Cedar gives people a little "taste" of Glastonbury - come here and try it out for yourself!
