“Fabulous Place To Stay!”
Reviewed 11 May 2014 via mobile

Adele was so welcoming! As soon as we stepped into the Covenstead, it was just an amazing place - you got to see it to believe it! Artefacts, books, stuffed animals and so many fantastic rooms - rooms to sleep in, rooms to meditate it, rooms to relax and natter in, a kitchen for those late night hot chocolates and nibbles - Adele thinks of everything. My room was beautifully decorated with a bottle of water and a kitkat by the massive and comfortable four poster bet. Breakfast was just awesome - fresh fruit salad and a huge fryup was my choice and I didn't go hungry.
If you're into your witchy stuff or just want a totally different place to stay, I can highly recommend it!

We have just spent one of the best nights we have ever had at The Covenstead.

The house and rooms are out of this world - I've never seen, let alone stayed, at anywhere such as this.

The beautifully decorated rooms (which I'd describe as esoteric chic) have an attention to detail which is second to none.

The house is inspiringly decorated with beautiful esoteric symbolism, paintings, soft furnishings and furniture.

The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had - and the company of our fellow guests down for a Current 93 gig in a local church and our intriguing conversation with Adele, the business owner, made for a wonderful morning.

We instantly booked another stay for later in the year at The Covenstead, and cannot wait to experience this truly unique bed and breakfast experience once again.

After being surprised by my partner in crime to a weekend away I found myself asking where? What? When?
Only to be told “This will be right up you’re street!" with gusto.....

The Covenstead is an absolutely amazing place!
Really it needs no more to be said, but on saying that YOU need to know what YOU will be enjoying for however long you will find you’re staying.
It is many things.

Guest house: Bedrooms are fantastic! One of the best rooms I have stayed in, for novelty factor and form comfort.

Museum: The amount of curio´s that are in this building is mind boggling
Information center: Adele’s informative and casual way of explaining the different things scattered around was excellent.

Seamstress shop: Adele makes steam punk outfits out of old wedding dresses

Temple: functioning temple on the ground floor for weddings and ceremonies

As soon as you open the door you completely understand that this is not your usual B&B. Greeted by a 6ft artificial witch you are guided in.
From Tibetan embellished goat’s skulls to provenance letters of witchcraft within the family, Original Salem witches bonnet, original Salem witches pricking needle and an unreal amount of paraphernalia that has been amassed by Adele that anyone would struggle to try to match over two lifetimes.
To boot, Adele herself is a fantastic hostess.
The talk over breakfast was funny, unhinged, informative and a highlight of each day.
Adele made the stay to be fair, if you had all these amazing artifacts and relics with no one of any knowledge on the subject matter to guide you around the different pieces….
You’d be lost…. She was excellent.
The Covenstead is, (sorry to sound like a cheese ball) THE REAL DEAL!!
I will most definitely be making the trip to this establishment again
Thank you Adele.
Sky and Katie.

One of the best and most unusual B+Bs we have ever stayed in. If you haven't been there before you are in for a very pleasant surprise.

The rooms are excellent, as is the bed, along with the food. Your host Adele will make it a really pleasant stay as she cannot do enough for you.

You really need to prepare yourself for the interior décor as I can assure you that you have seen nothing like it before, every where you look is an eye opener.

Ideal location right near the Abbey, the only small concern for some (not me) might be traffic noise overnight as it is on a main road.

Room Tip: any of them

If you are considering anywhere else to stay in Glastonbury, don't! Adele is the perfect hostess and the B&B first off is CLEAN. But, she has it decked out with antiquities and objects that will keep you interested for hours. Each room is so decadently decorated by theme and just so well done. I had the honeymoon suite and just felt like a queen staying in it. My son had Hern's Hideaway and was positively delighted with his "man room".

I cannot say enough good things about what an incredible stay we had. Breakfast was served early for us with a menu that we chose from with more food than we could possible eat. Adele is a truly fascinating, wonderfully warm person that I will remember the rest of my life. I booked this not knowing the views we would have and it is directly across from the Bishop's kitchen at Glastonbury Abbey with a view of the Tor!!! The location is perfect for shopping, eating, and exploring. We took the bus to Glastonbury and we were dropped off almost at her doorstep.

I will be back to see Adele and stay in Covenstead again - next time longer than one night! Thank you Adele and Tyfun! You made our stay truly magical.

The most fascinating, beautiful B&B imaginable with a host whose generosity knows no bounds. We have never experienced better treatment at any hotel or B&B. Clean rooms, comfy beds, more food than it is possible to eat and service beyond compare. Magical.

Spent the night (5 April) at the Covenstead in Glastonbury. A fun experience. Adele the hostess is a hoot! A charming and beautiful place to stay with lots of antiquities. The breakfast was delicious and lots of it. Would definitely recommend this especially if want something a bit different.

Room Tip: All are good.
