“4 Night Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2013

New modern hotel, the reception staff were friendly, we had a room on the road side of the hotel and the road is a busy road not made any better with the traffic lights just outside the hotel and it was noisy, in the evening it died down a little before picking up the next morning, not sure it would be any better on the rear side of the hotel as they are currently building industrial units and there is construction noise during the day. We did have a problem getting our room made up each day as there was a shortage of cleaning staff and we had to keep asking for it to be done, this may be down to teething problems as the hotel is newly opened. You cannot open the windows and have to rely on the air conditioning to keep the room cool and this can be noisy when trying to get to sleep. Great location for a stay and there are views of the Tor from the front of the hotel, you can walk into Glastonbury or Street in around 15 minutes also in Street there is a large retail park for a little retail therapy after sightseeing.

Room Tip: Once the construction on the rear side of the hotel is complete that is your best bet for a quiet ni...

stayed here on a wednesday night. arrived just before 5pm. no queue to check in, was greeted by a guy in glasses and wearing lots of plasters, wasnt very friendly and seemed rather nervous and hesitant. to be expected i suppose as the hotel had only opened recently.
we also purchased the £22.99 meal deal. no mention of the good night sleep guarantee by the gentleman behind the desk so off we went to our room (104). within seconds of entering 104 we left as the room had clearly not been made! menu on floor, glass beside bed, pillows out of place, bed not made. didnt even enter the bathroom as we went straight back to reception.
Saw the same person behind the desk, who first of all asked had it not been made at all, then proceded to get a piece of paper out with a list of room numbers on it. I asked if housekeeping had gone on strike today and he laughed and said its not the first time its happened. gave me a new keycard for room 110 this time and did appologise at the end (in my opinion should have been at the start)
so off we went again, 110 had been made and was clean and tidy. nice spacious room with aircon, plenty of power sockets, small tv (id guess 19-22 inch) but had all the freeview channels. however there was only 1 set of towels, so we had to go downstairs again.
the shower was good, however the toilet roll has been replaced by the single pull out sheet system - im not a fan personally, reminds me of a service station. takes me ages to pull out enough paper, however i guess its premier inn trying to be more environmentally friendly.
we had food in the brewers fayre next door that evening. food was good but service was let down by them bringing the mains out when we hadnt even finished our starters. my dad told them we didnt want that food reheated but i believed it was when we had it 30 minutes later as one of our party had a steak medium rare that was blatantly well done. apart from that though food and service was good.
we did have a nice sleep that night, the windows looked quadruple glazed so we didnt hear anything from outside.
breakfast was acceptable but i dont know if the range has been cut down or just not as much in the brewers fayre. the continental side of things looked a lot less choice than when we had stayed at other premier inns. no fresh fruit (only fruit salad) the cooked part of the breakfast was nice apart from the hash brown (thin and horrible just tasted of fat) so ditched this after one bite. I wouldnt have paid £8.25 for the breakfast on its own but the meal deal for £22,99 of a 3 course meal and a drink and breakfast offers good value.
overall it was a good stay after the frustrating initial problems but I wouldnt pay the £58 i did to stay again, only worth £39 to me.

Room Tip: get an even number room, they are at the back of the hotel away from the front main road

This is a new Premier Inn and had been open for two weeks when I stayed. It follows the same formula of good value accommodation and service as at other Premier Inns. The staff were courteous and professional. The room was very good and was clean. The glasses however, had toothpastes stains on the rim and had obviously not been thoroughly washed, just rinsed under the tap.
There was plenty of parking spaces and the location was not far from Clarks Village in Street and Wells was a very short drive away.
The restaurant offered the usual fare, produced and cooked to a standard, non-variation formula. It was packed mid-week with families - probably due to the "eat as much as you can" pie night - with variations on the same theme on other nights. That sort of dining experience obviously appeals to some. There was a good selection of wines and real ales at the bar.
Overall, the stay was OK , the location was quiet and the new outlet will appeal to the locals in the area too.

Our previous stay in a Premier Inn was in Bridgwater, where I froze, even at night in bed.
If you have the choice stay here instead.
Security was better, with your key card needed to get access to room corridors and the lift.
We had room 201 which was bright and had more sockets for laptops etc. It faced the car-park and was very quiet as far as external and vehicle noise.
Staff were cheerful and helpful.
If you turn up for a family room with lots of people, all you need to do is ask for more towels.
We had a 9:30 meeting in Bridgwater, but I would still use this one next time

Room Tip: Very new, so may not be in your sat-nav, but they tell you that by text msg

A new Premier Inn, quite a long way out of town. Restaurant does not offer much variety particulary for vegetarians - surprising these days! Room was as expected, but ask for one away from the stairs - I got one at the top of the stairs, near the lift ..... all I heard all night was banging doors in the corridor and the lift going up and down. No road noise thought despite the position.

We stayed here on a visit to see family at the start of February 2013. I've never stayed in a bad Premier Inn but this one surpassed my expectations! It's all still very new and clean, all the beds were made up on arrival and we had everything we needed.

We had breakfast in the pub next door which was ok, the only complaint was that the hot food was slow coming out - reminded me of a pizza hut buffet where there is never anything left for you! The staff were attentive and friendly - a really good stay.

This isn't a centrally placed hotel for Glastonbury but it is near a big supermarket and the Clarks outlet center which is always worth a visit!

We stayed here for two nights in February 2013. This Premier Inn is very new....it smells of newly fitted carpets!
The expected standard bedroom was flawlessly perfect and more than met the usual standard.
We usually enjoy their meal deal but didn't fancy the Brewers Fayre restaurant next door.
The hotel is ideally situated halfway between Street and Glastonbury, just off the main road and on the edge if a Retail Park....complete with Tesco 24 hour supermarket, KFC, and other assorted outlets.
One tiny criticism....our coffee cups weren't cleaned when our room was serviced. We hadn't experienced this before.
Check-in was very efficient and welcoming. (It was a real person and not a machine!)
A most enjoyable stay.....we would recommend this place without hesitation.
