Visited here for the first time and it is beautiful, best thing is it is also free. There are a number of bird huts you can sit in and read about the local wildlife, this would be a great place to take the kids for a great walk.

Ham Wall offers all aspects of nature, excellent bird watching, good walks and always a friendly face to check on what's been spotted. Just keep your eyes open you'll be amazed at what you see. Only downside as previous reviewers have said, no loos. Certainly a good day out though.

A good reserve to visit would be perfects if they had some toilets, a basic need for any visitor attraction

GO there is something about the winter landscape, swans and the haunting sounds of winter birds calling out. Nice for a walk

While I love Ham Wall for the wildlife, especially the birds, of which you can see some of the rarer UK birds, such as Great White Egrets. I do sometimes find it is a victim of its own success, with there being just too many people around, some of whom have no idea of etiquette in a nature reserve or in a hide.

Come early morning in the spring to see the best, I'm usually gone by 9:00am, before most folk arrive with their dogs.
