I stayed here 2 years ago now, I had the four poster room with 2 separate double/single beds. The Room was very nice, classical and beautifully furnished.

A great breakfast too.

Not far from Glastonbury, you will need a car.

Room Tip: The four poster beds are a must

My wife and I have just returned from a seven night stay at ''The Manor'' and can say that we had a lovely time, and a most wonderful reception by Sue and Monika.

A great advantage here is the lift, as one of us is not too good walking up stairs these days.

Our room was large, clean and decorated in a manner to suit the style and period of the building, and gave us some of the best night's sleep in weeks.

Breakfast was excellent and more than adequate for any normal appetite and we would have no hesitation in recommending ''The Manor'' to anyone.

Also very close to all the nature reserves in the area.

We would always stay here when visiting Somerset.

R and C, Derby

Room Tip: Try Lancelot 1, not the cheapest, but definitely a very nice room.

We payed £120 for a dirty, out of date and poorly furnished/decorated room. The woman on recpetion left us waiting whilst she talked on a personal call rather than checking us in.

The tru value of the room after our experience should have been £50 maximum. Awful place save your extra money and get a standard B&B for £50-£60. Made Travel Lodge look like the Hilton.

Room Tip: Don't stay here period!

We stayed here for two nights in late August. This hotel suited us as it very close to the local nature reserves – Ham Wall, Shapwick Heath and Westhay – allowing visits in the early morning before breakfast. We were greeted on arrival by a friendly young woman who showed us to our room. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was well furnished, and there was a desk for my computer, with complimentary internet access. The internet signal was strong and gave a good service. There was a bath. The room looked out over adjoining farmland. The beds were comfortable, and I slept well, although my wife woke in the night to the sound of cows (we had left the window open). Breakfast included cereals, fruit and various cooked meals. I enjoyed my breakfast, which we took at around 0930am, following early morning walks over the nature reserves. There were no evening meals available during our visit as some staff were on holiday. We found a couple of local pubs nearby.

Well booked a room at Meare Manor after trolling the net for a couple of hours. We were given the Merlin room which really could have done with Merlin;s magic,The decor is dated but in good condition,We only had a few problems which could have been rectified with more attention to detail,The loo sometimes took three to four times to flush and at night you just want to get back to bed not stand in the loo lol,The wall between the adjoining room must have been made of paper as the people next door were talking a little loud and certain sounds were heard that should not have been heard if you get what I mean LOL for those who don't know what (LOL ) means it means laugh out loud,Two other problems were the teapot had old tea bags in on arrival,And one of the pillow cases were badly stained,The breakfast was excellant and the overall experience was pretty good,Oh nice dining room pity they did not offer a better menu choice for the evening
