Superb example of an English cathedral at its most magnificent. Friendly staff, and photography permit available for GBP 3, for non-commercial photography.

“breathtakingly beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2011

the cathedral is stunningly beautiful and the surroundings are also. plan to spend at least 3 hours here to see the cathedral properly and take a walk around the various buildings such as the bishops palace and moat. we were able to attend evensong and hear the choir. they are very good and it was lovely to be able to be part of such a beautiful service.

“A Little Jewel of a Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2010

My husband and I luckily ran into Wells during our country tour in England. A very cozy town with beautiful pastures and the most amazing Cathedral a small town can ask for. A great place to take a stroll.

“Spectacular cathedral in charming town”

If you like medieval cathedrals, this one is special. Well preserved (wasn't destroyed by Henry VIII) and much to see.

“Amazing Architechure!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2010

Wow! Amazing building and architecturally stunning! You are able to walk around the entire building and also there is no entry fee, all they ask for is a donation which you are also not forced to give if you decide not to. All in all a great day out in Wells and glad we got to see the Cathedral.
