This was our 2nd time staying in the rose suite here. Stayed here this time for our 2nd wedding anniversary and can't fault the accommodation. Everything you need in a b and b including a mini fridge! Already planning our 3rd trip in the summer.

Highly recommend ashford house anf Wells itself is full of charm.

Both nights we stayed we ate at Antons Bistro in The Crown and the food and service was exceptional. Will definitely return to dine!

We booked Ashford House as we needed somewhere to stay, just for one night, that was walkable into Wells. We stayed in the Rose Suite and were very impressed with the whole set-up. The two suites have been created from a former garage/outbuilding and so you are away from the main house. We prefer this as you feel you have your own space rather than being an interloper in someone's home. The immediate surroundings are very well kept with a graveled area outside and a pleasant garden beyond.

The room itself was excellent. It looked to have been recently done and was furnished with good quality materials. Little touches - like nice bedside lamps - made the who place feel so much nicer than your more traditional 'Chintz' B&B. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom stylish. And everything was spotlessly clean.

The room has all you need to be self sufficient - tea making facilities, a microwave, jar of biscuits etc. Also your breakfast, assuming you go for the continental, is all there ready for the morning.

Jayne - the owner - has the balance right for running a B&B - friendly and welcoming but then leaving you to alone to settle in. All in all, a great place to stay.

We stayed for two nights whilst visiting friends in Wells and couldn't have expected more. Jane is a perfect host, the room was spotless and the breakfast arrangement was great for us. We especially enjoyed the privacy of being in a chalet type room, not disturbing the household and yet not feeling like we were left to get on with it either. Definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Both rooms are the same same size, we had Poppy which was turned into a King Sized as requested,

My husband and I stayed in the Poppy Suite and my sister next door in the Rose Suite. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ashford House. Jayne was very welcoming and our rooms provided everything we needed - comfy beds, great shower, delicious breakfast and the added advantage of a kitchenette with microwave and kettle etc. Our accommodation couldn't have been better - we will certainly be back if in the area again.
Thanks, Jayne.

My husband and I stayed in Wells for two nights at Ashford House and couldn't have been happier. Jayne, the owner, made us feel very welcome, offering us tips on where to go and what to see.

The two rooms are located in a separate building in the large garden of the property meaning that we could come and go as we pleased. The room we stayed in (the Rose suite) was gorgeous. It contained a small kitchenette and dining table meaning we could bring our own food for the first night. There is a table and chairs in the garden so we were able to sit and have our dinner (and a glass of wine) outside as the sun set - perfect!

We both slept extremely well and were impressed by the well-stocked breakfast each morning, all ready for us in the kitchenette so we could eat whenever we wanted. The en suite bathroom had everything we needed including shower gel and shampoo (a nice touch).

Wells itself is very pretty and relaxing. We enjoyed looking around the grounds of the cathedral, looking at Vicars' Close and exploring the small lanes of the city. The surrounding area is stunning; Gastonbury Tor is definitely worth a visit, as is Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge.

Jayne, thanks so much for everything - you were a star and made our stay perfect!

We stayed in the Poppy Suite at Ashford House for two nights mid May. The room was beautifully decorated and presented and in a lovely garden setting. We particularly liked the self contained suite, rather than the traditional type of bed and breakfast accomodation, especially as the weather was very changable. Everything provided was first class. The owner Jayne was very helpful with local information and routes. Would certainly recommend and use again if we return to the area.
