I had a great week here whilst spending a week singing at Wells Cathedral. Jabe was welcoming and friendly, the room was clean and pleasant and breakfast was great. The quiet surroundings were perfect. Would definitely recommend.

This was our first visit to the 'new' Ashford House. The rooms are separate from the main house and very nicely decorated. Spotlessly clean and roomy. The bathroom is compact but functional. Breakfast is pre ordered and eaten in your room. Jane, the owner, is vivacious, friendly and welcoming.

This was a real treat - as two older couples traveling together, we were delighted with the garden suites that gave us quiet surroundings, rooms big enough to sit in (with chairs we could use for evening reading -- a rare find in English B&Bs), lovely modern bathrooms with shower, and a compact mini-kitchen. Jayne was a wonderful host -- easy to communicate with before our stay, very attentive to our needs when there, but left us undisturbed most of the time. The breakfast she brought each day for the next morning was great -- not hot, but with pastries and bread that could be toasted, cheese and ham that we actually ate for lunch, yogurt and berries, fresh fruit in a bowl, juice and milk in pretty jugs in the fridge. One especially lovely aspect was the beautiful garden, with three different sitting areas that we were encouraged to use. The house is a fifteen-minute walk to the center of Wells, so convenient for tourist activities, meals, and a launderette. We loved our four nights here and would definitely return if we get back to this beautiful part of England.

Room Tip: There may be a room in the house, but the two garden suites are just wonderful for quiet and privacy...

A fantastic place to stay, with the benefits of b&b and the flexibility and independence of a cottage. Jayne was very welcoming and provided secure storage for our bicycles, The room was clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished and the ensuite power shower was great. Breakfast was excellent and nice having it ready in your room to have as you pleased. We were able to sit and eat outside on an evening if we wanted too, which was also great. Wells is only a few minutes walk away, so very convenient. Would definitely stay again.

We have just had 2 days at this unique accommodation. Jayne the proprietor was great. We arrived early and the accommodation which is one of two self contained units built in the beautiful rear garden was ready for us. Everything is immaculate and contemporary . Lovely en suite, shampoo, shower gel, hand wash supplied. Very comfortable bed, flat screen TV and a wonderful continental breakfast all ready for you in the fridge and on the shelf. Lots of choice of lovely fresh food. 10 minutes to Wells on foot. Thank you Jayne for a lovely break.

What a lovely experience from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure! Jayne’s accommodation is so comfortable and well appointed, with such a comfy bed in the Rose Room and an excellent, high-powered shower in the ensuite. I so enjoyed my stay there and would be hard pushed to criticise any aspect of the accommodation, the service or the location for that matter! I thoroughly enjoyed the quality – and flexibility – of the breakfast each morning. I was delighted to be able to have my dog with me too. Jayne takes huge pride in her hosting, which really enhances the whole experience. I would definitely recommend Ashford House and look forward to my next stay.

Room Tip: Either Rose or Poppy are lovely, with outside access too and an ideal space for dogs.

This was our 2nd time staying in the rose suite here. Stayed here this time for our 2nd wedding anniversary and can't fault the accommodation. Everything you need in a b and b including a mini fridge! Already planning our 3rd trip in the summer.

Highly recommend ashford house anf Wells itself is full of charm.

Both nights we stayed we ate at Antons Bistro in The Crown and the food and service was exceptional. Will definitely return to dine!
